Preseason Preview: Wabash HS

Coach Matt Stone and Wabash High School begin the 2013 campaign looking to improve on an impressive 17-13 record and a 5-2 record in the Three Rivers Conference.  Coach Stone returns seven starters and three arms from the 2012 team.

Of the returning players, senior and honorable mention Shea Beauchamp leads the way, hitting .434 with 5 homeruns in 2012. Beauchamp is high level corner infielder. Also returning for Apaches will be starting shortstop Landon Cole, who hit .380 in 2012, Jordan Floor will lead the Apaches on the mound after an impressive 5-1 record in 2012. Other key contributors to keep an eye on for Wabash High School include Grant Sailors, Kyle Kelsheimer (2015), and Justin Holley.

Coach Stone knows his team will have their work cut out for them as he will have to face 2012 State Champions, Northfield again in 2013. Northfield and Wabash are both members of Three Rivers Conference and Sectional 37. Both teams return the majority of their teams, but Wabash had Northfield down 4-2 last year in the 7th inning of sectionals before eventually losing 5-4.
