Phil Wade
Indiana Executive Director

The annual Invite Only Preseason All-State Showcase for the top 2021 prospects is coming up Saturday February 29th at Roundtripper Sports Academy in Westfield, IN. Leading up to the event we will highlight some of the top prospects to be in attendance.

Scouting Report

10/11/19: 86-89 for Team Indiana. One inning pitched, three strikeouts.

7/18/19: Purdue commit. Built at a big, athletic 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, Doorn took the mound for the Chiefs on Friday and looked dominant his first couple of times through the order of the eventual tourney champs, STiKS Black. In his first two frames of work, Doorn was sitting 84-87 mph, arm-side run, with a curveball that was a separator for him; a late-breaking pitch off an 11/5 plane with plus action, 72-76 mph. Threw a handful of changeups, firm, slight fade, but at arm speed, 77-79 mph. The combination of his frame and present stuff makes the No. 5-ranked prospect in Indiana’s 2021 class a must-follow moving forward.

2/23/2019: Carter Doorn, RHP/3B, Illiana Christian HS, 2021, 6 foot 3, 175 pounds, throws from a mid ¾ slot and a long arm action. Fastball sat 84-86 with room for more as he continues to fill out his frame. Changeup is a really good pitch with good fade and sat 72-75. Curveball sat 70-73 with good down action at times with 11/5 shape. Looking forward to seeing him down the road as the velo should keep climbing. Carter also ran a 7.23 and threw 88 mph across the diamond with an exit velo of 93 mph, making him an interesting two way follow. Has a simple early hand load at the plate and plus bat speed. Shows athleticism in the infield.

7/24/18: Extremely athletic 2021 RHP/INF prospect with present tools that also project. Hits from the right side. Uses narrow closed setup in the box. Showed good bat speed through the zone. Posted an exit velo of 86. Showed gap to gap ability and pull side ability. In the field showed soft hands with fluid footwork. Arm strength across the diamond is above average for age at 85. On the mound pitches from high ¾ arm slot. Arm action is loose and easy. Stays in line throughout delivery. Finishes in athletic position. FB showed arm side run at times and sat 81-83 T84 with more in the tank. CB showed above average potential with hard late break that caused swing and misses at 70-73. #3 ranked 2021 in the state.
