Carroll-Flora vs Taylor 5/10/22
By Cooper Trinkle
Will Eldridge, RHP, Carroll Jr./Sr. HS, 2022
Eldridge, a 6-foot-4, 190 pound Indiana Wesleyan recruit, dominated on Tuesday night with 11 strikeouts in his 4 innings of work, allowing 3 BBs and 1 H. He showed an electric fastball, sitting 92-95 mph. When he gets to extension, the fastball has serious ride. Pitched mainly off the fastball, but did show a 79-81 breaking ball. The breaking ball command was inconsistent, but when he got it out in front, it showed sharp, late bite with some depth. Eldridge pitched from a stretch-only, drop-and-drive delivery. His size mixed with good drive on the delivery helped the fastball jump on hitters. Tended to lose his frontside which led to some inconsistencies. Eldridge has an incredibly high ceiling with one of the best fastballs I’ve seen this spring.
2022 RHP Will Eldridge (@weldridge1523) was absolutely dominate for @CarrollHighBase, racking up 11 K’s in his 4IP.

Michael Pemberton, RHP, Taylor HS, 2022
Uncommitted 2022. Pemberton is a strong, athletic 6-foot-3, 190 pounder. Quick-tempo delivery with a tall balance point. Pitched from a high ¾ angle and sat 82-86, T 87 mph on his fastball. His FB showed good sink & run. Predominantly used the FB, but showed a sweeping, 67-70 mph breaking ball. Pemberton showed inconsistent command, leading to 6 BB’s and 5 ER in his 4 IP, while striking out 6.

Eli Harshbarger, LHP, Carroll Jr./Sr. HS, 2024
A 2024 southpaw to keep an eye on. Harshbarger is a high-waisted, 6-foot-1 sophomore that sat 78-79 on his fastball with minimal effort. His upper 60’s slider showed sweeping action with late break. I expect his breaking ball to be even better as he matures and adds velocity. Long, athletic frame. Multi-sport athlete. Good follow.

Jacob Vogel, RHP, Jennings County HS, 2022
XL, 6-foot-6, 220 pound Indiana signee. Vogel uses a slow tempo delivery with a ¾ arm slot. Sat 84-88 mph on his fastball with decent command to his glove side. His best pitch in this look was his sweeping, 69-74 mph breaking ball, which he showed good feel for. Vogel didn’t have his best stuff going this night, allowing 4 H, 2 BB, & 5 ER, however he did punch out 5 in his 3 IP.
