Luke Hayden
Scouting Report
9/20/20: LakePoint Fall Invite: Indiana commit ‘21 RHP Luke Hayden works down in zone with good tilt on the fastball. Tight slider for a strike and swing and miss pitch. FB: 90-93, T94 in first SL: 78-81. Struck out the side.
9/13/20: Hayden scuffled a bit with his command working deep into count across two innings, but still managed to record every out via strikeout. The right-hander possesses a physical, 6-foot, 195-pound frame with strength throughout, and utilizes maximum effort with each pitch. He worked predominantly 90-92 (2288-2549RPM) with the fastball while going to his usual 78-80 slider early and often. With a “bulldog” mentality and competitive nature, Hayden refuses to give into hitters, and looks to overpower them with a quick, strong arm. This being the first outing of the fall, the sharpness of his stuff and ability to tunnel the breaking ball, which took more slurve shape that the usual slider, will likely return in coming weeks, albeit with continued relieverish look.
Garrett Harker
Scouting Report
6/27/20: Sturdy 5-foot-11, 200 pound right-hander pitches with effort through the delivery. Solid three-pitch mix in the zone. Lively fastball at 90-93. Curveball shows 12/6 shape at 77-80 with depth; thrown for a strike and swing & miss. Mid-80's power changeup with fade.
JD Rogers
Scouting Report
9/13/20: Vanderbilt recruit. Rogers was ultra-conservative hitting in the leadoff spot for Team Indiana as he patiently waited for pitches deep into counts. Sporting an athletically-muscular, 5-foot-9, 178-pound frame, the left-handed hitter sets up wider in a crouched base. The hands flow freely down and back before stopping as the weight transfers to the front foot with a longer stride. There is impressive quickness to the hands with a direct path and intent to drive the ball to the back side gap. At times, the bat got out of the zone quickly which caused some swing-and-miss throughout the weekend, but there is still lots to like. A gifted athlete with speed and ball-skills, Rogers has a chance to stick in centerfield long-term. Making the most of his speed, Rogers swiped seven bags on the weekend.
Khal Stephen
Scouting Report
6/25/20: Great Lakes National Qualifier - Purdue commit, came out hot sitting sitting 88-90, up to 91 with good extension and late life on the fastball. Also flashed a tight 80-81 mph breaking ball with swing and miss tendencies. Projectable 6-foot-4, 195 pound frame. The right-hander is sure to make his way on scouts follow lists for next year's draft. 2IP, 5K.
Scouting Report
2/23/2019: Austin Bode, C/OF, Columbus North HS, 2021, 5 foot 10, 185 pounds, posted an exit velo of 96 mph with plus bat speed and balance. Hits slightly open from left side and uses controlled leg lift to load and has good separation at launch position. Barrel gets on plane and consistently barrels balls to middle of the field. Shows good actions behind the plate with good footwork. Threw 77 mph from the crouch and had pop times of 1.93-1.97. Left handed hitting catchers with power are not easy to find, nice job by Louisville on this commit.
