As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Head Coach Mike Larrabee and the Yorktown Tigers finished last season 18-11 overall and were .500 in conference play.  The Tigers ended their season with a loss to Sectional champion Delta in the sectional 24 semi-final.  The Tigers return solid talent in 2014 that should make them very competitive throughout the season and could possibly make a run in the state tournament.  Leading the way is SS Clay Dungan, the No. 29 ranked prospect in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings. Dungan hit .322 as a sophomore with 25 runs scored.  On the mound Larrabee will to Junior RHP Jacob Preston, the No. 47 ranked player in the 2015 class.  Preston is a 6-foot-2, 215 pound righty that finished 2013 with a 3-1 record while striking out 31 in 28 IP.  Sophomore Jake Clawson returns after hitting .281 with 4 2B, 15 Runs, and 5 SB as a freshman.  The No. 20 ranked player in Indiana's class of 2016 rankings should also see valuable innings on the mound.  Fulfilling the catching duties is Junior Nathan Phillips, ranked No. 109 in the 2015 class.  Phillips hit .346 with 2 2B and a HR in 2013.  Other players Coach Larrabee will look to for contributions are sophomore 1B Anthony Todd and senior OF Ryan Tucker.  Todd is a 6-foot-3, 280 pounder that hit six HR's as a freshman with the JV team.
