As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The Terre Haute South Braves and Head Coach Kyle Kraemer had a successful 2013 season where they finished 22-8 and tied for first place in the MIC with Center Grove.  Kraemer's team returns five positional starters and three arms this spring.  The Braves are led by senior SS Jacob Johnson who hit .333 with 27 RBI and 13 SB as a Junior.  Sophomore OF Justin Jenkins, ranked No. 7 in Indiana's class of 2016 rankings, will be expected to contribute both defensively and at the plate.  Jenkins hit .366 as a freshman with 8 2B and 17 RBI.  Senior Austin Slover will play a key role offensively after hitting .378 with 8 2B and 21 RBI.  Junior Jared Wolfe will play along side Jacob Johnson up the middle.  The 5-foot-8, 155 pound Wolfe hit .306 and swiped 7 bags in 2013. On the mound the Braves are led by sophomore RHP Logan Ames. The 6-foot-3 righty, ranked No. 17 in the 2016 class, went 3-0 as a freshman with 1.19 ERA.  Junior RHP Timmy Herrin will also be a main contributor to the Braves pitching staff.  The 6-foot-4 righty went 3-1 in 2013.
