As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Head Coach Eric Isenburg and the Peru Tigers are looking build upon last season's 15-11 overall record. The Tigers were fairly young in 2013 with many sophomores and even freshman gaining valuable playing time.  Isenburg will count on two left-handed pitchers this spring in junior Logan Primerano and sophomore Cameron Beauchamp.  Primerano is a 6-foot-4 lefty who finished last spring with a 7-3 record, 2.25 ERA, and 96 Ks.  Beauchamp is a 6-foot, 165 pound lefty that went 3-1 last spring.  Beauchamp will also be looked upon to produce at the plate as he drove in 22 RBI last season with a .354 BA.  Junior Nolan Brimbury is a left handed hitting IF that will be a key piece in the field and at the plate for the Tigers. Junior OF Michael Richardson finished 2013 hitting .429 with 19 RBI.  Richardson possesses good speed as well and is a threat on the bases; last season he swiped 15 bags.  Junior IF Matt Kaufman and senior Matt McKinney will also be contributors to the Tigers this spring.  Kaufman finished last season with a .282 BA, while McKinney hit .290 and drove in 15 runs.  The Tigers expect to be very competitive throughout the year and compete for a conference and sectional title.
