As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Jered Moore enters his first season as Head Coach of the Zionsville Eagles after spending three seasons as the head assistant. The Eagles return a talented group this spring led by Bellmont commit Ben Kocher. The No. 12 ranked prospect in Indiana's class of 2014 rankings and 2nd Team Preseason All-State selection, Kocher is an impact player in the field, at the plate and on the mound.  Last spring he batted .354 with 4 2B, 2 HR and 16 RBI.  On the mound the RHP went 3-3 with 31 K's in 33 IP.  The ace of the Eagle's pitching staff is Virginia commit Grant Sloan, the No. 9 ranked prospect in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings. As a sophomore Sloan was 4-2 with a 1.54 ERA and compiled 30 K's in 41 IP. Fulfilling the catching duties is senior Travis Tokarek, a University of Evansville commit and the No. 55 ranked player in the 2014 class. In 2013 Tokarek hit .309 with 8 2B and 14 RBI.  Other key players returning for Zionsville this spring include; Junior LHP Kellan Elsbury, sophomore INF Drew Bertram and seniors Glen Collier and Evan Miiller.
