As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The New Albany Bulldogs and Head Coach Chris McIntyre finished the 2013 season with 22 wins, an impressive feat after losing their best arm in LHP Josh Rogers early in the season with an elbow injury. This spring the Bulldogs will be led by Xavier commit, Brandon Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 180 pound RHP with a mid to upper 80's fastball.  Johnson, currently ranked No. 17 in Indiana's class of 2014 rankings, went 6-2 on the mound last season with a 2.20 ERA and 79 Ks. Offensively McIntyre will look to senior 2B Tucker Marcum, for production.  A four year lead off hitter, the 5-foot-8, 150 pound left handed hitter finished his Junior year hitting .398 with 42 Runs. Behind the plate, McIntyre will look to sophomore Timmie Redford to fulfill the catching duties.  6-foot-2, 175 pound SS Jack Shine returns for his final season with the Bulldogs. The unsigned senior hit .333 with 33 RBI as a Junior. Also expected to contribute is sophomore A.J. Nixon, a 6-foot, 155 pound OF that hit .311 in 2013.
