As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The Jay County Patriots finished the 2013 season 16-13 overall.  Head Coach Lea Selvey's team returns seven starters along with four pitchers this year. Leading the way for the Patriots in 2014 is Huntington University commit Kyle Selvey.  Selvey, an honorable mention all state SS, hit .408 last spring.  Senior James Houston is expected to contribute offensively after hitting .380 as a Junior along with senior OF Toby McCallister who finished the year with a .400 BA.  Selvey will look to sophomore Chandler Jacks for contribution after hitting .318 as a freshman.  Other players expected to play key roles include; Junior Tanner Reynold and Senior Keenan James.  James hit .287 in 2013.
