As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The Evansville Central Bears and Head Coach Mike Goedde are expecting to compete for a Southern Indiana Athletic Conference championship and Sectional championship this spring.  The Bears return seven starters and six arms from last year's team that finished a game over .500 at 14-13.  Leading the way for the Bears is senior 3B/RHP Will Ray, an Olney Central commit.  Ray, ranked No. 92 in Indiana's class of 2014 rankings, hit .369 last spring and earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors.  As a sophomore Ray hit .415 and was 1st Team All-Conference.  Senior OF/LHP Cory Mason, another Olney commit, returns after hitting .423 last season, earning All-Conference honors. Senior Grant Buckley, also an All-Conference member, will contribute both at the plate and on the mound. The Vincennes commit hit .377 last spring and went 5-3 with a 2.09 ERA on the mound. Other key players returning in this spring include; Junior SS/RHP Ryan Moore , senior 2B Andrew Coffman, and senior RHP Kavonte Bass.
