As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Head Coach Scott Rost and the Elkhart Memorial Chargers are looking to improve upon their 7-24 record from last spring.  Rost believes this year's Chargers squad is capable of finishing above the .500 mark and compete for a conference and sectional championship.  Junior catcher Daniel Asbury returns after hitting .341 with a .477 OBP last season.  Asbury is ranked No. 112 in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings. Senior LHP Jake Tucker (Manchester commit) will lead the way on the mound for the Chargers along with Junior RHP Scottie Clark, Senior RHP Brock Herman and Senior Noah Pawlak.  SS/CF Cam Maxwell, a 5-foot-10, 160 pound Junior is expected to contribute to the Chargers this spring both in the field and at the plate.  As a sophomore last year Maxwell hit .278 while swiping 10 bags.
