West Suburban Rising Stars ID: Takeaways & Statistical Analysis

On Tuesday, June 25th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff traveled to Lee Pfund Field in Carol Stream, Illinois to host the West Suburban Rising Stars ID. The event hosted 13 players from across the state and allowed our staff to get a closer look at these players to kick off the summer circuit.
These early Rising Stars events also serve as key identifiers for future invite-only events, including the Prep Baseball Junior Future Games.
Today we take a look at a couple of the standouts, as well as breakdown the top statistical performers from the day with our “Statistical Analysis” below.
TAKEAWAYS
C Brody Pilosi (Providence Catholic, 2028) stood out on both sides of the ball Tuesday. Behind the plate, the backstop reached as low as 2.08 for his pop-time, topping out at 73 mph from the chute with carry and accuracy. At the plate, the right-handed hitter creates some bat-speed with easy effort, staying balanced through impact while working to stay on top of the baseball (T84 mph EV).
INF Quinn Champion (Nazareth, 2028) gave our staff an impressive look on Tuesday. Listed at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds, the right-handed hitter showed quick, strong hands with a flat path and extension through impact, creating bat-speed while using the whole field (T80 mph EV).
OF Carson Ramoley (Brother Rice, 2028) will be a name to follow throughout the coming years. The right-handed hitter led the event in exit velocity, topping out at 89 mph with a polished round of BP, displaying quick/strong hands with an athletic operation. Defensively, he showed active footwork with athletic actions, attacking the baseball with intent.
INF Jacob Huber (Libertyville, 2028) is an upside incoming freshman to know from the event. Listed at 5-foot-10, 135-pounds, Huber has all sorts of room to add on strength in the coming years. A right-handed hitter, Huber has a simple and easy swing, working flat through the zone with extension, staying balanced throughout and keeping the ball on a line. On the infield, he has soft hands with a fluid two-hand gather, securing the ball into his body with some rhythm.
