Fr. OF Jaret Phillips (Vincennes)
Despite being a freshman, Phillips put together the most impressive round of BP on the day. The physical left-handed hitter gives off middle-of-the-order, impact type of vibes at the plate. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound, wide-shouldered freshman, repeated his swing and was all over the barrel throughout while elevating hard and loud contact to the pull-side. Stays short, compact and on-plane with balance and intent throughout. Led the event with a 90.6 mph average exit velocity, as well as a max of 97.6. PITCHERS

So. RHP Carson Allen (Vincennes)
6-foot-1, 185-pound frame with strength throughout. Allen looks like he’ll be a key returner for the Trail Blazers this season - coming off a year where he led the team in innings pitched (53.2). The loose and easy moving right-hander showed a mid-80s fastball that played straight out of the hand. He showed feel with both his off-speed pitches - a slider in the low-to-mid-70s that played with high spin (avg. 2692 rpm) and quality horizontal actions at the bottom of the zone (avg. -19.1” HM), and a change-up in the mid-70s with depth that worked the lower-half of the zone consistently throughout the ‘pen.

So. RHP Alex Wandersee (Vincennes)
6-foot-1, 170-pounds, lean, athletic frame with seemingly more to come. He’s a clean, quick mover on the mound, and his fastball sat in the mid-80s with mostly straight actions out of the hand. He spun a low-70s slider well, averaging 2557 rpm, with tight horizontal action. He rounded out his mix showing feel for a mid-70s change-up that had fade and depth at times. Last spring, Wandersee struck out 38 in 38 innings of work.

So. RHP/SS Bryce Gross (Vincennes)
5-foot-8, 145-pound lean frame with room for more physical development. Gross returns 20.2 innings on the mound where he also tallied 21 strikeouts. He worked out of a stretch-only delivery with a loose, quick arm, showing a fastball at 87-88 mph with ride through the zone and quality spin, averaging 2461 rpm. He showed feel for a 76-78 mph change-up that dropped off in the zone at times and played with fade. He also turned to a curveball in the upper-70s that worked with more vertical shape. Also, a right-handed hitter, hit .271 with five doubles in 2024.

Fr. RHP Colton Okes (Vincennes)
6-foot-1, 175-pound frame, lean and athletic throughout with more still to come. Loose, easy mover on the mound with a fastball that sat 85-88 mph working straight out of the hand. His curveball sat 71-72 mph with sharp 11/5 shape at times, and a change-up that sat in the low-80s with fade and depth through the zone. Okes struck out 13 in 20 innings pitched last season, and will look to provide quality innings for this year’s Trail Blazer team.

Fr. RHP Eastin Whaley (Vincennes)
Lean, athletic frame at 6-foot, 190-pounds. Whaley is an athletic mover with a quick arm out of a high ¾ slot. His fastball sat 85-87 mph with life through the zone, playing with an average of 16.4” of induced vertical break. He spun his curveball at 73-74 mph with an average of 2339 rpm, playing with 12/6 shape at times. He also mixed in a low-80s change-up with fade and depth at times.
