The spring season is fully in gear with a number of teams in the thick of the conference season with postseason seeds and brackets coming in the not-so-distant future. For now we take a look at yet another week of IHSA baseball and all of the noteworthy action from across the state. 

There was some movement up and down the Power 25 but one constant over the last few weeks has been Nazareth at No. 1, and nothing is changing this week. The Roadrunners now sit at a perfect 21-0 and are coming off yet another impressive week. On the week they went 4-0 with a three-game sweep of conference-foe St. Patrick and they also took down Marian Catholic 7-3. Looking ahead, it should be another tough week with a three-game conference set against Benet and a single game against Niles Notre Dame.

CLIMBING

+ No. 2 Joliet Catholic (16-2): Rising one spot to No. 2, the Hill went a perfect 4-0 this past week with a three-game sweep over Marian Catholic 10-0, 8-1 and 11-4. They also took down Niles Notre Dame by the score of 11-2 to finish off their week. 

+ No. 3 Huntley (17-1): The Red Raiders are up two spots to No. 3 after a dominant 5-0 week. They only allowed three runs in their five games played while scoring 29; taking down Prairie Ridge 6-2 & 3-0, Crystal Lake Central 8-0, Hampshire 1-0 and Carmel (IN) 11-1. 

+ No. 4 Lincoln-Way West (17-0): The Warriors keep rolling and now find themselves up to No. 4 in this update. They went a perfect 5-0 on the week, taking down Stagg 8-7 & 9-0, Lockport 10-4, No. 13 at the time Joliet West 7-5 and Oak Forest 6-3. 

+ No. 5 Providence Catholic (15-3): The Celtics are yet another team that went undefeated on the week, finishing at a 5-0 clip. Their offense was rolling, as they scored 61 runs over their five games, taking down Loyola 17-5, DePaul 10-0 twice, Marist 11-1 and Mt. Carmel 13-2.  

+ No. 7 New Trier (13-3): The Trevians are up one spot after a perfect 4-0 week. On the week, they took a big two-game set from Evanston, knocking them off 11-2 and 5-4. They also took down Barrington 6-4 and Niles West 3-0. 

+ No. 9 Downers Grove North (17-2): The Trojans are up one spot to No. 9 after going 5-0 on the week. They took three games from conference foe Oak Park-River Forest 2-0, 10-6 and 4-2 - also taking down Hinsdale Central 7-4 and Leyden 10-0. 

+ No. 10 Minooka (14-5): The Indians are back in the top-10 after a 4-0 week. During the week, Minooka took a three-game conference set against Oswego East, scoring double digit runs in every game, ultimately outscoring East 37-11 in the three games. They also defeated Lincoln-Way East 5-0.

+ No. 11 Joliet West (18-4): Sitting right outside the top-10 is Joliet West at No. 11. They took three games from Joliet Central this past week by the scores of 13-1, 14-0 and 14-1 - as well as a game from Andrew by the score of 4-3. Their lone loss was to now No. 4 Lincoln-Way West by the score of 7-5. 

+ No. 17 Sycamore (14-0): Still undefeated, Sycamore added four wins to their tally this past week with victories over Ottawa 17-7, 4-3 and 13-3 - also notching a win over Glenbard South 20-4. 

+ No. 18 Triad (14-6): The Knights find themselves up two spots to No. 18 after a hard-fought 4-1 week. They saw two wins over Waterloo by the scores of 12-2 and 11-6, but their big win came against Kentucky’s No. 3 team McCracken County by the score of 4-3. They capped off their wins with a victory over Notre Dame (MO) 6-1. Their lone loss came to a strong Graves County (KY) team by the narrow margin of 1-0. 

SINKING 

+ No. 6 Edwardsville (12-6): The Tigers dropped two spots, but it is hard to say they are sinking after a 3-1 week. The one loss was a 1-0 game against McCracken County who is ranked No. 3 in the Prep Baseball Kentucky Power 25. They also took down CBC out of Missouri and took a two-game set from Collinsville 5-4 and 11-5. 

+ No. 8 St. Laurence (17-4): The Vikings had their first up-and-down week of the season going 2-3. As a result, they dropped six spots and now sit at their lowest point so far this spring. They started off the week 2-0 with a 7-1 win over Saint Ignatius and 10-0 win over St. Rita. However three straight losses; new No. 20 Lyons Township 6-5, St. Rita 1-0 and Loyola 3-1 have them down six spots. With four conference games on schedule for this week they will have an opportunity to get right back on track.

+ No. 13 Lake Park (13-3): A tough 2-2 week has the Lancers dropping four spots in the most recent update. They took two-of-three from ranked conference foe, No. 22 Geneva, but a loss to St. Charles East by a score of 2-0 led to the four spot drop. 

+ No. 19 Libertyville (13-4-1): The Wildcats slide down two spots in the most recent ranking after a 3-1 week, showing just how hard it is to keep your spot in the Power 25. Libertyville took a two-game set from Waukegan and knocked off Vernon Hills 5-4 but a 3-2 loss to Highland Park has them sitting just inside the Top-20 in the most recent update. 

+ No. 22 Geneva (13-2-1): The Vikings find themselves down to No. 22 after a tough 2-2 week. Their two losses came against No. 9 at the time Lake Park by the scores of 4-1 and 6-1 - while they also took the Lancers down 9-7. Their second win came against Glenbard North in dominant 10-0 fashion. 

+ No. 23 Fenwick (15-5): The Friars are down just one spot after a 3-1 week. Their lone loss came against De La Salle by the score of 9-4, while they also saw victories over Immaculate Conception 11-0, De La Salle 6-5 and Marmion 6-5. 

+ No. 25 Glenbrook North (13-3-1): North falls two spots to No. 25 after a 3-1 week. They saw three wins over Maine East 12-2, Maine South 13-7 and Yorkville 10-9, but fell to Maine South by the score of 5-1. 

NEW TO THE POWER 25 

+ No. 20 Lyons Township (11-4): The Lions slot into the Power 25 for the first time this season at No. 20 after a week in which they had four Power 25 wins. They took down No. 21 York in a three-game set, winning by the scores of 11-3, 9-3 and 2-0. They also took down No. 2 at the time St. Laurence by the score of 6-5. 

+ No. 21 Glenwood (16-2): A 5-0 week with four shutouts and now a 16-2 record vaults Glenwood into the Power 25 at No. 21. They had no easy stretch of games, taking down Normal University 5-0, MacArthur 11-0, Lanphier 17-0, Washington 1-0 and Sacred Heart Griffin 4-3.
