For now, here’s some of the day’s top performers:

POSITION PLAYERS

CIF Ayden Petersen (Wesclin, 2027) is a physical, 5-foot-10, 210-pound right-handed hitter to know in the state. He took one of the loudest rounds of the day, leading the entire event with a 101 mph max EV, averaging 93.8 mph and reaching up to 373’ for his max distance. He creates easy power with strong hands and a flat path, flicking the barrel through the zone with ease, averaging 71.8 mph for his bat-speed. On the infield he showed easy and fluid actions, pairing with a strong arm across (T86 mph).

OF Carson Parrill (Collinsville, 2026) stood out as a quality player on both sides of the ball. Currently ranked No. 166 in the state, listed at 5-foot-9, 162-pounds, the right-handed hitter has an athletic swing that works flat through the zone, displaying a pull-side approach throughout his round with a max EV of 90 mph. Steady defender in the outfield, plays through the ball with intent, sure-handed actions. His arm plays from a high ¾ release, topping out at 84 mph from a crow hop.

C Chase Snyder (Valmeyer, 2026) is a catching prospect to know from the day. Listed at 5-foot-10, 194-pounds with some present strength throughout. The right-handed hitter displayed strong, loose hands throughout his operation, staying balanced through impact and working on the barrel to his pull-side throughout his round, topping out at 90 mph for his max EV. Confident receiver of the baseball behind the plate, works under the baseball to present pitches around the zone for strikes. Clean glove-to-hand operation, works in-line out of the chute, 2.19 pop-time, T71 mph down to second.

OF Nathan Walker (Mascoutah, 2026) and 1B Cooper Hoog (Seckman, 2026) are a couple physical bats from the day that deserve a mention.

Walker, a 6-foot, 189-pound left-handed hitter, worked his max EV up to 94.1 mph with a max distance of 357’.

Hoog, a 6-foot, 216-pound left-handed hitter was on the barrel throughout his round with a max EV of 96.4 mph, maxing out at 332’ for his distance.

TWO-WAYS

MIF Hunter Fryman (Marshfield, 2026) is an intriguing two-way to know from the day. Listed at 6-foot, 178-pounds, Fryman initially stood out at the plate with a loose, athletic operation, working easy and quick from launch with strength through the zone, staying on the barrel to his pull-side throughout his round, topping out at 98 mph for his EV with an average of 91.7 mph (T365’). Fluid defender with soft hands, plays with timing and rhythm, easy and quick glove to hand transfer. His arm plays with life across the infield, topping out at 85 mph. His arm-strength easily transferred over to the mound, running his fastball up to 85 mph to pair with a quality-spinning slider (2300 rpm) and splitter that he could land in the zone.

RHP Mick Niebrugge (Teutopolis, 2026) is an uncommitted name that made his Prep Baseball event debut in Wood River this past week. He’s a big 6-foot-3, 207-pound prospect that was up to 88.5 mph with his fastball, sitting mostly 85-87 mph throughout his ‘pen. His curveball played with 10/4 shape, averaging 2330 rpm, and his change-up sat 77-79 mph with fade at times and playing low in the zone. On the other side of the ball, Niebrugge is a strong right-handed hitter that works flat through the zone, creating extension out front through impact, topping out at 95.6 mph for his EV while averaging 91.1 mph (T351’).

PITCHERS

RHP Brody Simily (West County, MO, 2027) is an intriguing arm in Missouri’s sophomore class. Looking through his progression since last seeing him at the GBA Scout Day in February, Simily has continued to improve. He stands in a strong frame at 6-foot, 188-pounds with present strength throughout. He works out of a stretch-only delivery, and showed an easy, clean arm action with minimal effort to produce as fastball that sat 86--88 mph, topping out at 89.4 mph with clear carry through the zone and quality spin (avg. 2428 rpm). He also spun both a curveball and slider; his curveball plays with sharp 11/5 shape, with an average of 2476 rpm, and a slider with sweeping action and high spin (avg. 2730 rpm). Rounding out his four-pitch mix, Simily threw a change-up with fastball intent, sitting 79-82 mph. An arm-to-know in Missouri.

LHP Mathew Crownhart (Homeschool, IL, 2027) intrigued with his athletic, easy actions on the mound, and long, loose and clean arm path. His fastball sat in the low-80s with quality spin (avg. 2320 rpm) and slight arm-side run. He also showed feel for both a slider and change-up; his slider playing with short, horizontal actions, and his change-up sitting 71-73 mph with fade and depth (avg. -16.1” HM). The 6-foot, 167-pound prospect has all kinds of upside in his frame, and left the event a follow arm.
