Today, we’ll address all the Illinois prospects who made the decision to announce their commitment throughout this past week. We wrapped up our final showcase of 2023 in October, so as we head into the fall and winter offseason, now’s the time when recruiting season picks up. This past week was a busy one for commitments, so let’s begin.

Charlie Cizek 3B / 1B / Oak Lawn, IL / 2024

ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY COMMIT

From 2/18/23:
Positional Profile: 3B/1B
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds. High waisted, athletic frame with room for added muscle.
Hit: RHH. Open setup, works back to even, leg lift trigger that gains ground. Somewhat short to the ball, flat path that works to the whole field.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 78.9 mph. 197’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 66 mph. Longer draw into a high 3/4 slot, some accuracy.
Defense: Steady hands, two-hand gather and secures into the body.
Run: 7.80 runner in the 60.

Andrew Fox 1B / OF / Yorkville, IL / 2024

JACKSON JC COMMIT

From 2/21/22:
Positional Profile: 1B/OF
Body: 6-0, 200-pounds. Strong lower half. Tall frame.
Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, low hand slot at load, short stride. Some hand speed, uphill path to contact.
Power: 94.1 max exit velocity, averaged 83 mph. 330’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 76 mph. Short arm action. High 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: Athletic, balanced footwork. Plays with confidence.
Run: 7.19 runner in the 60.

Keenan Oldani OF / 3B / South Elgin, IL / 2024

From 8/8/23: "...showed out as one of the more physical athletes in Rantoul last week. Oldani, who stands at 6-foot-3, 197-pounds, recorded the highest exit velocity of the entire event, scoring a 105.5 mph line drive right back up the middle on his second to last swing. He breached the 100 mph park two other times during his round, posting an average exit velocity of 95.5 mph, which was an event best. In game, Oldani screamed a home run directly over the left field fence on Wednesday morning. Defensively, Oldani moved around the outfield well and he flashed above-average arm strength in Tuesday’s workout, peaking at 87 mph on his hardest bullet home."

Jackson Petsche 1B / OF / Oswego East, IL / 2024

From 6/6/23: "...is an uncommitted 6-foot-1, 205-pound left-handed hitter of note. Petsche creates natural lift and leverage to the pull-side of the diamond, staying on plane while registering a max exit velocity of 95.7."

Grant Reinneck C / OF / Mascoutah, IL / 2024

LEWIS & CLARK CC COMMIT

From 10/4/23: "Strong, well-proportioned 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. Really impressed behind the plate defensively. Highly advanced blocker, interchanges his hips and routinely chests up the baseball with confidence, relentless worker. Long, level right-handed swing, was on the barrel to the middle of the field a few times, including a sacrifice fly to center field."

Nolan Veto RHP / Waterloo, IL / 2024

SHAWNEE CC COMMIT

From 10/4/23: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, strong lower half. Hurled four clean innings in a start for the Gateway Bruins on Saturday morning. Simple mover, stays in line to target and finishes square. Fastball played in the low-80s, touched 84 mph, with backspin up in the zone. Bend/depth on a mid-to-upper-60s curveball, flashed feel to land it for strikes."
