Prep Baseball Illinois Player of the Week: Jaden Fauske

Nazareth Academy has been atop our Power 25 since the very first update we made in early April, and they show no signs of slowing down, boasting a perfect 26-0 record with just under a month left in the regular season. One player that has been a cornerstone in their potent lineup is Jaden Fauske (2025), a 6-foot-2, 182-pound left-handed hitter that has been seeing time on varsity since his freshman year. This past week was one to remember for Fauske, as he helped the Roadrunners to another perfect week with four wins, going 9-for-12 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, seven RBIs, five runs scored, three walks and three stolen bases. For his efforts, Fauske has been named this week’s Player of the Week.

His most dominant game came in a conference win over Benet by the score of 8-1, as he went 3-for-4 in the contest with two home runs, four RBIs and two runs scored.

He stayed rolling throughout the Benet series, helping them to two more wins by going 2-for-3 with a double in their 2-1 victory on Tuesday, and 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, a run scored and two walks in their 6-1 victory on Thursday.

Fauske capped off his week with a 2-for-3 day in a 13-3 win over Niles Notre Dame on Saturday, finishing with a triple, RBI, two runs scored and a walk.

Currently ranked No. 2 in the state of Illinois and No. 35 in the country, Fauske wields one of the more impressive left-handed bats in the entire 2025 class. Hitting to a .530 clip on the year now with a .833 slugging percentage, Fauske brings a polished approach to the plate that pairs with above-average power and the ability to use the entire field. He also provides defensive versatility, being able to hold it down behind the plate, on the corners of the infield, or even in the outfield. He is certainly a name that will garner some professional interest throughout the rest of his prep career.

Scouting Report

4/13/24

Currently ranked No. 2 in the state; No. 35 nationally. Fauske batted out of the three-hole and displayed a mature and disciplined approach on Saturday. The left-handed hitter was in the DH position on Saturday morning and went 1-for-1 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, and two runs scored. Fauske stands in the box at a physical 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, and has a hitterish look in the box. He has a short leg lift trigger that loads his weight onto his backside. His hands work direct to the ball, swinging with a fluid, slightly uphill path. Fauske is a high-follow junior to continue to watch the rest of the spring.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
