Lockport Rising Stars ID: Takeaways & Statistical Analysis

By: Illinois Scouting Staff

On Friday, Apr. 10, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff hosted the Lockport Rising Stars ID at Bo Jackson's Elite Sports Dome in Lockport, Ill. This event served as an open identifier into the state's 2028 and 2029 graduates, providing our staff an early look at the area's top players as they continue to progress as prospects.

These early Rising Stars events also serve as key identifiers for future invite-only events, including the Prep Baseball Junior Future Games.

Today we take a look at a couple of the standouts, as well as breakdown the top statistical performers from the day with our “Statistical Analysis” below.

TAKEAWAYS

+ One of the top two-way showings on the day came from 1B/RHP Jack McNamara (Brother Rice, 2028). He's already a physical 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, and impressed with a strong left-handed swing with a max EV of 89 mph. On the mound, the right-hander moves well for his size, reaching up to 78 mph for his fastball with a three-pitch mix.

+ Another two-way winner from the event was LHP/OF Collin Lawlor (Marist, 2028), who fired his fastball up to 80.5 mph from the left side to pair with a smooth left-handed stroke at the plate.

+ OF/LHP Carver Cohn (McHenry, 2028) and SS/OF Mark Williams (Naperville Central, 2028) are a pair of switch-hitting prospects that both have upside swings and bright futures ahead of them.
