On August 6th and 7th, the Prep Baseball Illinois Staff hosted the Illinois State Games at the Rantoul Family Sports Complex in Rantoul, IL. This is the third year we have run this event, and it continues to gain traction as the largest and most competitive showcase in the state. There were 363 players that made the trip to Rantoul, ranging from the 2025-2027 classes, and there were just under 80 colleges of all levels in attendance to scout the event. 

Below you will find scouting reports on every single senior pitcher from the State Games, along with a ranking of the top overall performers. 

One player to know from the event is RHP Will Carter (Whitney Young), an uncommitted power arm still on the market. Listed at 6-foot-6, 192-pounds, Carter worked his fastball up to 90 mph in this look with a breaking ball over 2,300 rpm, and he’s been up to 92 mph in the past.
