Sunday, October 13th, the Prep Baseball Illinois team is hosting the Class of 2026 Showcase at The MAX in McCook, Ill. This is an open event for all high school juniors (2026), and gives our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

EVENT ROSTER

This year’s event roster is shaping up nicely, just like in year’s past.

C/OF Evan Mendiola (York) is an intriguing 6-foot-1, 176-pound prospect that has an easy and calm approach from the right side of the plate. He’s produced a max exit velocity of 93.4 mph while sending his farthest hit ball 342 feet at a previous event. We’re excited to get another look at Mendiola at this weekend’s event.

RHP Gavin Fuscone (St. Charles East) is an intriguing arm headed to Sunday’s event. The wiry 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect has projection still to come in his frame. At an event last winter, his fastball was up to 80.1 mph on Trackman, and his velocity has slowly ticked up, sitting 82-85 mph during a tournament this summer. He’s a simple mover on the mound with minimal effort, and we’re eager to see his progression at The MAX this weekend.

EVENT CHECK-IN PROCESS

Because of the high number of prospects set to attend Sunday’s event, it is imperative that you read our showcase itinerary below, which will allow our staff to swiftly and efficiently educate and evaluate the players set to attend.

Additionally, in an effort to continue and develop contactless check-in strategies, upon arrival, players will scan a QR Code with their smart phone camera that will lead them to a Google Form. On that Form, players will enter their name (matching the spelling on their PBR profile) and hit submit. Upon submission, players will be prompted to click a link that will direct them to their jersey color and number, located next to their registered name.

Please bring snacks and drinks as events can run long, especially depending on your position.
