Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP Parker Beine

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director – Illinois/Wisconsin
Parker Beine is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound right handed pitcher from Bellville West. Last year at the Preseason All-State Beine looked to be one of the biggest sleepers of the event. At that time he sat 83-84 mph with his fastball and showed advanced feel for four pitches. Beine has an athletic delivery and repeats it well giving him the ability to pound the strike zone with all of his pitches. Beine’s slider looked to be an above average out pitch with two-plane action at 71-72 mph. He couples that with a 70-73 mph changeup that has arm side action.
Beine’s pitchability and projectable frame have caught the eyes of several recruiters. Beine said he has received interest from Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Dubuque, Southwestern Illinois and Southeastern Illinois.
This fall he has made his rounds to tour several of the campuses mentioned but is still waiting to find the right fit. Beine said,
“I’m looking for a school with a quality business and marketing program.”
Beine is currently ranked No. 118 in Illinois' class of 2014 and is one of only two available pitchers in the top 125.
