The Outlook: Post is a physical backstop who is a defensive first catcher. He possesses a strong, accurate arm, true flight with carry at 79 mph from the crouch. Also, has subtle, quiet, smooth actions behind the plate and soft hands. Post has been catching on varsity since his freshman season. He will have a solid pitching staff to work with this spring, including the likes of 2018 right-handed pitchers Ryan Vice, Andrew Hancock, Jacob Blount and senior southpaw Josh Currier.
Scouting Report: 6/16/16 - Physical 6-foot-2, 205-pound catcher, strong sturdy build. Defensively arm carried well, short over the top arm action, accurate to target, 79 mph out of the crouch. Pop times ranged 2.08-2.19, arm strength is there and transfer can improve. Soft hands, willing to block, above average receiver. Right-handed hitter, wide setup, balanced stance, short stride. Simple approach with strong hands, fast bat, slight uphill path. 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.2 runner in the 60.
