The Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2016. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2017 graduates, and will include several colleges in attendance. Over 40 schools were in attendance at last year’s event.

Over 70 players from last year’s Unsigned Senior Showcase went on to commit to a college following the event. One of those was 6-foot-7, 220-pound RHP Jim Jarecki (Marquette University, WI). Jarecki showed off a loose, quick arm and ran his fastball up to 87 mph and would go on to commit to Bradley University. One of the better infielders in attendance was Korry Howell (Homewood-Flossmoor) who committed to Kirkwood CC. Howell ran a 6.89 60, registered a 90 mph exit velocity and displayed smooth, athletic actions and soft hands on the infield.

Currently, there are close to 90 uncommitted seniors signed up for this year’s event. The CURRENT ROSTER can be found here. A few notable’s to be sure to keep an eye on come Sunday are INF’s Sam Faith (St. Charles North), Timothy Sullivan (St. Francis), Alex Steinbach (Plainfield North) and RHP Ryan Larsen (Vernon Hills) among others.

Sullivan is currently ranked No. 83 in the Illinois’ 2017 class and impressed this June at the Top Prospect Showcase.

Check-In times for the Unsigned Senior Showcase are as follows:

Position Players:
8:20-8:40 AM

Pitcher Only:
12:00-12:30 PM

Catchers will stay for both sessions as they will also be evaluated while catching bullpens.

The event should end around 12:00 pm for position players. The last pitcher should conclude around 3:30 pm
