Unsigned Senior Showcase Preview: Roster and Check-in Times

The Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2015. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2016 graduates, and will include several colleges in attendance. Over 50 schools were in attendance at last year’s event.

Last year’s event featured a number of interesting prospects who ended up committing to colleges following the event. Many arms in attendance saw their stock rise dramatically. RHP Sam Hubbe (St. Charles North) was up to 87 mph on the mound and committed to Butler. Projectable body, 6-foot-4 LHP David Llorens (Grayslake Central) sat 85-88 mph and committed to Heartland Community College. Big body RHP Nic Laio (Downers Grove North) impressed with his full arsenal of pitches and committed to Western Michigan. RHP George Swedie (Lisle) was up to 86 mph and featured a splitter with plus action and committed to Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

This year’s event includes some high level prospects and many that are new to PBR events. 2B/OF Jeremy Gaines (Oak Park-River Forest) is now back on the market after de-committing from Missouri and will be participating on Sunday. Also, talented infielders Josh Figueroa (De La Salle) and Scott Cappis (St. Ignatius) will be there showing off their skills. On the mound RHP Jack Wolfe (Sandburg) who touched 87 at the Unsigned Senior Games in August and LHP Drake Berman (Wauconda) a pitchability lefty that sat in the low 80’s at the Chicagoland Open look to impress come Sunday.

Check-In times for the Unsigned Senior Showcase are as follows:

Position Players:
8:20-8:40 AM

Pitcher Only:
11:30-11:50 AM

Catchers will stay for both sessions as they will also be evaluated while catching bullpens.

The event should end around 12:00 pm for position players. The last pitcher should conclude around 3:30 pm
