The Prep Baseball Report winter Unsigned Senior Showcase is a long standing event in our showcase circuit. For nearly ten years this event has brought dozens of schools out to recruit some of the top available talent in the state.

This year’s roster already has over 80 prospects from Illinois and Wisconsin. CLICK HERE for this year’s current roster.

25 players from last year’s event and 45 from the year before ended up committing to colleges following the showcase. The Top Overall Prospect from last year’s event was RHP Walker Brockhouse (Mt. Vernon). The 6-foot-4 right-hander ran his fastball up to 87 mph and ended up committing to Rend Lake JC. 6-foot-8 RHP Kevin Davis (Lockport) was another top prospect from the event and ended up committing to Olney JC. Davis ran his fastball up to 85 mph with a lot more in the tank.

Looking at this year’s roster, Illinois and Wisconsin will have their fair share of interesting prospects. In Illinois, there will be a strong quartet of outfielders in attendance, led by Kevin Lapka (Lane Tech), Noah Miller (St. Rita), Jeff Morton (Mundelein), Cam Robinson (Champaign Central) and Max Snowden (Grayslake Central). Robinson will also get on the mound at the event, where his 6-foot-4 frame and loose arm play well.

Other guys from the state of Illinois to keep an eye on are C Connor Bauer (Hinsdale Central), INF Hunter Johnson (St. Viator) and RHP Billy Pierce (Plainfield East), among others.

Wisconsin will be highlighted by a pair of ranked prospects in INF Ben Seaman (West Bend East) and RHP Wes Sommers (Appleton North). Seaman has a projectable frame and moves well on the infield while Sommers will showcase a loose arm that sits in the mid 80’s.
