On Oct. 11, the PBR Illinois staff hosted the fall Unsigned Senior Showcase at The MAX in McCook, Ill. The event featured nearly 100 prospects with a plethora of them having committed to college already. Shortly after the event’s conclusion, we provided some instant analysis from the day's top performers in our Quick Hits and Statistical Analysis posts. We continue our post-event analysis today, rolling out scouting reports on each position from the event. We published our reports on catchers at the start of the week, and we’re onto the outfielders today.

From Champaign Centennial, Tyler McClure (2021; Kaskaskia JC commit) entered and exited this event as one of the top prospects in attendance. He’s athletic in a strong 6-foot-3 stature, and he makes impactful contact from the right side, combined with sub-6.70 speed. He’s a top-100-ranked prospect in the state and just recently committed.

Sam Del Valle (Mount Carmel, 2021) remains uncommitted and came away from this event with some renewed intrigue. He swings a simple, athletic righty bat and his overall athleticism projects to make him an asset in the outfield, too.

Also uncommitted: Jude Sullivan (Paris, 2021), a powerful left-handed hitter who made some of this event’s loudest contact. During batting practice, Sullivan recorded the single hardest-hit ball (and by a fair margin), and averaged the highest average exit speed of the day by over six ticks, at 95.0 mph.

Hit: LHH. Upright, balanced setup. Smooth load and leg kick stride. Quiet hands pre-pitch, fluid rhythm throughout. Short, compact swing. Line-drive approach and consistent hard contact. Profiles as a top-of-the-order type of bat.
