We move along with our analysis form the Top Prospect- Milwaukee with the pitching reports. The event featured a lot of talented arms that will make an impact at the next level. RHP Colin Fields (Libertyville, IL) takes the top spot among the arms topping out at 89 mph with his fastball that flashed late cutting action. Another interesting arm is Oak Creek RHP Nicalas Wanker who is still raw on the mound but features a fastball with heavy action topping out at 90 mph.
Top Prospects
1. Colin Fields, RHP, Libertyville (IL), 2018
Committed to Valparaiso after the event. 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose, quick arm action. Drop and drive delivery working in line with home plate. Fastball has late cutting action at 86-88 topping out at 89 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with sharp breaking action and depth at 69-72 mph. Changeup sat 77 mph.
2. Nicalas Wanker, RHP, Oak Creek, 2018
6-foot-1, 230-pound right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with easy effort. Plus arm strength. Square landing working in line with home plate, slow paced delivery. Fastball has heavy cutting action at 86-89 topping out at 90 mph. Slider has sweeping action with late breaking action at 76-77 mph. Changeup sat 74 mph. One of the biggest risers in the Wisconsin Class of 2018.
3. Taylor Jansen, RHP, Sun Prairie, 2018
6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed pitcher with a projectable frame. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort and a high front side. Works in line with home plate, good balance and tempo. Fastball worked downhill at 86-87 mph. Got swings and misses with his changeup at 75-78 mph, while maintaining arm speed. Curveball has shown improvement. 12-6 shape with gradual action at 65-68 mph, can drop it in for strikes.
4. Blake Thiesse, RHP, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, 2018
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky, projectable frame. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a long draw out of the glove, and a quick arm action. Drop and drive delivery with a closed landing, creating a tough crossfire angle for hitters. Fastball sat 83-85 topping out at 86 mph. Curveball has swing and miss potential. Sweeping action, starts it over the outside corner to RHHs and breaks late off the plate. Changeup sat 76-77 mph. Struckout two in his inning of work.
5. Jackson Brown, RHP, Oconomowoc, 2018
6-foot-3, 185-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky frame. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a long, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Works in line with home plate, smooth rhythm. Fastball has running action at 82-85 topping out at 86 mph. Slider has 10-4 shape with short breaking action at 72-74 mph. Changeup is a plus offering with late sinking action at 73-74 mph. Struckout two in inning of work, both on changeups, one swing and one looking.
6. Luke DePrey, LHP, Sun Prairie, 2018
5-foot-11, 180-pound left-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Square landing with good tempo and balance. Fastball sat 82-85 topping out at 86 mph. Curveball has 1-7 shape with depth at 69-72 mph. Changeup worked 71-72 mph.
7. Jack Zander, RHP, Sun Prairie, 2018
6-foot-5, 225-pound right-handed pitcher with a durable frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Square landing, smooth rhythm, with easy effort. Fastball worked downhill at 82-84 topping out at 85 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 70-73 mph. Showed feel for changeup with sinking action at 76-77 mph. Had a clean inning of work inducing a weak pop out and three groundouts.
8. Harry Orth, RHP, Tremper, 2018
6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Works form a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fal delivery with a square landing. Hides the ball well. Showed pitchability and feel for three pitches. Fastball has late running action, brings it back over the plate at 80-82 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with short breaking action at 71-72 mph. Changeup is best offering, true swing and miss pitch at 72-76 mph. Maintains arm speed on it with sinking action. Struckout three in his inning of work.
9. Jackson Mandella, RHP, Nicolet, 2018
5-foot-10, 185-pound right-handed pitcher with a compact frame. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Square landing with a short stride. Fastball has heavy running action at 83-84 topping out at 86 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with gradual action at 67-69 mph. Projects for a slider in the future. Changeup sat 71-72 mph.
10. Chandler Fochs, RHP, Wausau West, 2018
6-foot-3, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Works form a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Drop and drive delivery working in line with home plate. Fastball has hard cutting action down in the zone for strikes at 80-82 topping out at 83 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape at 68-70 mph. Slider is best secondary offering with 10-4 shape and short breaking action at 72-75 mph. Struck out two in his inning of work.

Slow paced delivery creates deception. Fastball has slight running action, works in on RHHs. Sat 81-84 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape, throw with fastball arm speed at 68-72 mph. Showed feel for his changeup with running action at 75 mph. Breaking ball heavy approach in game.
Tate Carter, RHP, Brookfield Central, 2018
6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Fastball was straight at 81-83 topping out at 84 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with gradual action at 62-64 mph. Changeup has sinking action at 71-73 mph.
Teig Chase, RHP/INF, Kettle Moraine, 2018
6-foot-1, 190-pound two-way player. Right-handed hitter, open stance, short stride back to even, good balance. Easy swing with rhythm, flashed bat speed, line drive gap to gap approach. 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played short from a high ¾ slot, with accuracy, 73 mph across the diamond. Clean exchange with playable hands. 7.22 runner in the 60. On the mound worked over the top, short arm action. Fastball topped at 83 mph, sat 78-80 mph. Curveball played on 11/5 plane, 69-71 mph. Showed changeup at 73 mph.
Cameran Crawford, RHP, Southwest, 2018
6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Square landing working in line with home plate. Fastball was straight showing occasional cutting action at 78-79 topping out at 82 mph. Showed some feel for his curveball with 12-6 shape at 64-66 mph. Changeup sat 71-74 mph.
Isaac Dirker, RHP, Howards Grove, 2018
6-foot-6, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Good balance with some rhythm. Fastball worked downhill with slight running action at 81-84 topping out at 85 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 68-69 mph. Showed feel for changeup with late fading action at 70-72 mph. Lacked command from the stretch. One of the more projectable arms in the Wisconsin Class of 2018.
Devin Fish, RHP, Eisenhower, 2018
6-foot-1, 188-pound right-handed pitcher. Works from an over the top arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery with effort in release. Fastball sat 80-83 mph. Curveball sat 71-73 mph with 12-6 shape. Changeup worked 75-76 mph in warmups.
Kyle Gendron, RHP, Wilmot, 2018
6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. On the mound works form an over the top arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Works in line with home plate, square landing, with smooth rhythm. Fastball worked downhill showing slight cutting action at 81-84 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape at 68-70 mph. Showed feel for changeup, straight action at 72 mph. Lacks consistent command but flashes ability to control the bottom of the zone.
AJ Golembiewski, RHP, Marian Central Catholic, 2018
6-foot-4, 175-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky, athletic frame. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a short, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a square landing and upright finish. Fastball has sinking action at 82-84 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 69-70 mph. Changeup sat 74-75 mph. Induces a lot of ground ball contact.
Parker Heidorf, RHP, Pewaukee, 2018
6-foot-7, 190-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky frame. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, high draw out of the glove. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing and regular effort. Fastball has slight sinking action down in the zone at 79-83 topping out at 84 mph. Curveball sat 63-66. Changeup sat 72 mph. Lacked consistent command.
Trey Hunt, INF/RHP, Fennimore, 2018
5-foot-9, 170-pound two-way player, stocky, compact frame with strong build. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride. Uphill path, lifted contact, pull side tendency. Some bat strength, 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played short from multiple angles, 79 mph across the diamond. Hands play soft, and worked through the baseball at times, showed body control. 7.45 runner in the 60. On the mound arm action is short from a high ¾ slot, regular effort, tall and fall down the hill. Fastball is mostly straight, 77-80 mph. Curveball played at 67-68 mph. Changeup fades, 67-69 mph.

6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky frame. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with easy effort. Fastball sat 77-81 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape at 69-71 mph. Changeup has slight sinking action at 72 mph. Worked a clean inning in game.

6-foot-2, 220-pound left-handed pitcher. Works from a ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with easy effort. Square landing with an upright finish. Fastball has running action at 79-81 mph. Curveball has 1-7 shape with short breaking action at 70-73 mph. Changeup has fading action at 72-75 mph.
Derek Koenen, RHP, Burlington, 2018
5-foot-9, 151-pound right-handed pitcher with a small, athletic frame. On the mound works from a over the top arm angle with a short, loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Slight crossfire angle with smooth rhythm. Fastball has cutting action at 80-82 topping out at 83 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 65-67 mph. Showed feel for changeup, throw with fastball arm speed at 73-74 mph.
Zachary Lutz, LHP/OF, Hartford Union, 2018
6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting LHP/OF. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Drop and drive delivery with a square landing working in line with home plate, good explosion in the core. Fastball sat 77-80 topping out at 82 mph. Curveball has 1-7 shape with depth at 65-67 mph. Changeup blended with fastball at 78 mph. At the plate hits from a crouched, slightly open setup with a short stride and average balance. Long swing path with fluid rhythm. Showed strength thru contact with 92 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 6.84. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Plays thru the ball with fluid footwork. Threw 83 mph from the outfield.

6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action and wrap on the backside. Tall and fall delivery. Fastball has slight running action at 75-77 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape with gradual action at 63-65 mph. Lacked command of the zone.
Will Monroe, 1B/LHP, Appleton North, 2018
Lean projectable left-handed throwing two-way player, 6-foot-2, 183-pounds. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup, leg lift trigger. Showed easy pop, uses hands, projectable bat, has bat speed with occasional pull side pop, 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Doubled and singled in game. Defensively showed feel around the bag, lanky athlete, arm plays at 79 mph across. On the mound delivery works with a high front side, long loose arm action, ¾ slot with little effort. Fastball plays with arm side run, occasionally flashed hard cut, 78-80 mph, touched 81 mph. Curveball has 1/7 action, sharp bite at times, 66-68 mph. Has feel for changeup, fading action, 73-75 mph.
Ben Nordloh, CIF/RHP, Waunakee, 2018
6-foot-1, 205-pound two-way player. On the mound works exclusively from the stretch, tall and fall delivery, regular effort. Arm plays high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 77-79 mph, topped at 80 mph. Curveball played 11/5, 63-65 mph. Changeup flashed at 72 mph. Left-handed hitter, tall setup, short stride, simple approach. Path is short and uphill, 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively profiles as a corner infielder, arm played at 75 mph, high ¾ slot. 7.45 runner in the 60.
Alex Oakley, OF/RHP, Sun Prairie, 2018
6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed hitting OF/RHP. At the plate hits from an open setup with an armbar load and average balance. Uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 96 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.62. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws. Plays thru the ball with slower actions. Threw 82 mph from the outfield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Slide step delivery from the stretch.
