Scouting Notes: Glenbrook South vs. New Trier
April 20, 2012
The wind and cold didn't seem to bother Glenbrook South junior, Sam Selby, who drove home a run in the top of the 5th inning to give Glenbrook South a 1-0 lead on New Trier and that was all senior LHP, Sully Stadler, needed. Stadler went the distance for the Titans, throwing a 4 hit shutout complete with 8 K’s. Glenbrook South ended up winning 2-0.
Scouting Notes
Indiana University recruit, Sully Stadler (7 IP, 4 H, 8 K’s, 2 BB) was pitching 84-87 mph and touched 88 mph. He slowed down in the late innings sitting around 84 mph.
Bucknell recruit, Austin Zimmerman (6 IP, 6 H, 5 K’s, 1 BB) from New Trier pitched in the 84-87 mph range for the first two innings and sat 82-84 mph in the later innings.
Junior Sam Selby is a strong, physical 6-foot-3, 185-pound athlete and is a name you may continue to hear at Glenbrook South. He went 2-3 on the day and drove in the only two Titan runs. Selby has a nice left-handed swing and has a good approach at the plate, never trying to do too much but gets the job done. As he gets more bats, the junior has power potential.
New Trier senior Sean Visconti, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound SS has committed to Palm Beach Atlantic University.
