STL Force Scout Day: Outfield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report-Missouri held the STL Force Scout Day on January 25 at the STL Force training facility, Champions Village, in Fenton, MO. Fourty players attended the event, with the majority of players in the 2023 and 2024 classes.
Today, we will take a look at the outfielders from the day, many from a talented 2024 class. Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. Players listed below are in alphabetical order.

Outfielders
Adam Ackerburg OF / OF / Clayton , MO / 2021Ackerburg is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.96 home to first and had an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts tall, quick leg lift with in line stride, minimal load, finishes with one hand, middle of the field approach. Nicholas Alagna OF / SS / Fort Zumwalt West, MO / 2024Alagna is a 5-foot-3 100-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2024 class. He ran a 5.03 home to first and had a 68 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, shifts weight slightly to back leg to load with toe tap on front toe, short in line stride, quiet hands, repeats swing, gap to gap approach. In the outfield, quick and athletic actions, quick transfer and throw, plays through the ball, loose over the top arm slot, arm works, more in tank as he continues to grow. |
Logen Deckard LHP / OF / Northwest, MO / 2023Deckard is a 6-foot 140-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 4.65 home to first and had a 71 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, slightly open, minimal load, hands walk away from stride, attacks ball, slight lift to bat path, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals. Chase DeQuasie SS / RHP / Columbia, IL / 2024DeQuasie is a long and slender 5-foot-6 130-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Illinois’ 2024 class.
