The third annual Prep Baseball Report Preseason I.D. - McHenry at Pro Player Academy in McHenry, IL is coming Sunday, January 28, 2018. The event, which will consist of 2018-2021  high school graduates, has sold out. There are 97 players registered, predominantly consisting of players from the northern part of the state.

20 players from last year’s event have committed to play at the next level so far. 2017 RHP/3B Brandon Komar (Elkhorn, WI), now at Madison Junior College, was one of the top overall prospects from the event. Komar sat 85-87 mph on the mound and intrigued as a potential two-way player at the next level. Another standout who emerged last year was 2020 INF/RHP Tanner Dreher (Covington, IN). Dreher, now ranked No. 22 in Indiana, flashed advanced arm strength on the infield and showed a good feel for pitching.

Looking at this year’s roster, there are plenty of familiar faces on the roster. When glancing at the list, the 2019 class looks particularly strong. Some names to keep an eye on, among others are INF Evan Geske (Woodstock) OF Kyle Hetherington (Crystal Lake South), LHP/OF Dominic Listi (Prairie Ridge) INF/RHP Michael Patterson (Prairie Ridge) and C Jason Volpe (Lakes Community).

Underclassmen poised for good days should be RHP Cole Bhardwaj (Jacobs, 2020) RHP/1B Thomas Giese (Huntley, 2020), C Camden Janik (Wauconda, 2021) and OF/LHP Cory Ronan (Routt Catholic, 2021).

There are bound to be a plethora of others who open some eyes at the event as well.
