Madison Preseason I.D.: Infield Analysis

Here's a look at the top infield prospects from the Madison Preseason I.D. Several high level infield prospects topped the list which encompasses all four infield spot. The list is a mix of strong hitting corner infielders as well as a few quick handsy middle type infielders.

Top Infield Prospects

1. Adam LaRock, OF/INF, Eau Claire North, 2016
Iowa commit. 5-foot-11, 170-pound switch-hitting athlete, lean build with strength. Raw, plus potential toolsy prospect, showing continued improvements and polish. Showed plus arm strength at 96 mph from the outfield, 91 mph across the infield, long high ¾ arm action with carry and accuracy. Looks to project best in the outfield, looks more natural and has foot speed to stick in centerfield. Ran the 60 at 6.76, laser timed. Offensively hits from both sides of the plate, slightly open stance, short stride with good balance, setup mirrors on both sides of the plate. Swing looks short to the baseball, more polished than previously seen, excellent bat speed from both sides. 91 mph exit velocity from the right side, 93 mph exit velocity from the left side. One of the more dynamic prospects in the 2016 class, highly versatile and just starting to hit his stride on realizing potential.

2. Grant Frazer, INF/RHP, Oconto, 2016
Central Michigan commit. 6-foot-, 170-pound two-way player, lean athletic build. Hits from a slightly open stance, athletic setup, minimal loading action with short stride, good balance. Handles the bat well, short quick stroke, line drive type hitter, barrel aware, stays inside the baseball, 2-hole type hitter, hits it where its pitched. Good bat speed, 95 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays through the baseball well, athletic defender, versatile could play any three infield spots, reliable hands. Arm action is short and loose, good release, high ¾ slot, accurate and carries, 83 mph across the diamond.

3. Ben Carew, SS, Kimberly, 2016
6-foot, 170-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop with an athletic build. In the field has a long, loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Showed carry on throws with fluid footwork and flashed soft hands. Plays thru the ball with athletic actions. Threw 82 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from an upright, open stance with a short leg kick stride. Line-drive, gap-to-gap hitter with a short, level swing path and fluid rhythm. Carew shows and advanced approach at the plate with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 89 mph exit velocity from a tee. Solid runner, running the 60 at 6.76.

4. Alex Tricoli-Walkanoff, INF, Tremper, 2017
5-foot-10, 165-pound infielder, medium frame with athletic build. Hits from a balanced stance, athletic loading action, short stride and good balance; athletic hitter. Loose hands, creates bat whip through the zone, hands work well, barrel aware. Bat speed present, gets through the zone quickly, short path, stays on top, line drive gap to gap type hitter with occasional pop to pull side. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Athletic infield defender, hands work well, soft playing the baseball out front, sets feet well through the baseball, foot speed can improve, 7.47 laser timed 60. Athletic arm action when on the move good body control, short loose arm action, accurate and carries to target, 80 mph across the infield. Lively defender with a bounce to his step. High follow 2017 prospect in Wisconsin. 

5. Jeff Steuck, 1B, Tremper, 2016
Dayton commit. Physical, 6-foot-2, 200-pound first baseman, strong build. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, tall setup, lower half works, good balance through contact. Has a presence in the box, athletic setup, attack the baseball. Short path with extension, pull side power type hitter, strong fast bat. 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively shows natural actions around the bag, good footwork and soft hands. Well above average first base defender. Strong arm for first base, 77 mph across the diamond. 7.41 runner in the 60.

6. Taylor Borchers, RHP/3B, Appleton North, 2016
Gonzaga commit. 6-foot, 190-pound two-way player, sturdy frame with strength. Slight drop and drive style delivery, works online, squared landing and athletic finish. Arm action is long and loose, slot has gotten higher, more of a high ¾ slot now. Fastball has late action  through the hitting zone, sat 87-88 mph. Changeup is best secondary, has arm side run and sink, can pound the zone with it, deceptive out of hand, 71-74 mph. Curveball works on 11/5 plane, gradual action with slight arm deceleration, 63-67 mph. Offensively this from an open stance, short stride, smooth loading action, good balance. Compact approach and barrel aware, path is short to the baseball, gap to gap type hitter, occasional pop. 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively hands played soft, proper footwork, third base type. Arm action is similar to that on the mound, 84 mph across the diamond, plenty of arm to play the left side. 7.51 runner in the 60.

7. Nathan Brown, RHP/INF, Arrowhead, 2016
Florida commit. High level 2016 prospect, possible draft follow in 2016. 6-foot-2, 185-pound two-way prospect, lean athletic frame, projects best on the mound. Delivery is clean and athletic, shows the ability to repeat and pound the zone. Loose, athletic arm action, quick arm, high ¾ slot. Fastball has hard late, arm side run, very active in the hitting zone, sat 89-92 mph. Showed feel for two breaking balls. Slider is the better of the two, more swing and miss type pitch, occasional left arm side but showed biting action on 10/4 sweeping plane, 75-79 mph. Curveball has more depth, 11/5, occasionally backed up, 72-75 mph, shows ability to land for strikes, good change of pace, 72-75 mph. Changeup flashed plus action, 77-80 mph, arm side run, also shows swing and miss potential. Showed athleticism as a two-way player, 7.02 runner, obviously has arm strength, 89 across the diamond. Hands work well, moves well, solid infield defender. Offensively showed bat speed and loose athletic hands, hard contact, barrel aware. Good bat speed, 89 mph exit velocity from the tee.

9. Patrick Sisk, 3B, Marquette University, 2017
Physical build, shows current strength, 6-foot-3, 200-pound third baseman. Right-handed hitter, open stance, smooth loading action, short toe tap stride back to even, good balance through contact. Creates hard contact, showed some pop, fast bat speed. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays through the baseball, above average hands, exchange is clean. 7.86 runner. Strong arm, plays well from the left side of the infield, high ¾ slot, 85 mph across the diamond. High follow 2017 prospect.

8. Lucas Maurina, SS, Altoona HS, 2016
5-foot-8, 150-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. Athletic defensive actions; footwork is quick and fluid, plays through the ball well, short athletic arm, plays well on the move, clean exchange; average carry across infield at 76 mph. Offensively, hits from left side from open, balanced setup. Minimal load, slight leg lift, short and quick to the baseball. Consistent hard contact, line-drive approach, solid barrel awareness. Recorded 77 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.35 60.

10. Christian McKelvey, SS, Germantown HS, 2017
5-foot-8, 145-pound middle infielder. Advanced athletic defensive actions, shows natural middle infield tendencies. Moves with fluidity and purpose, clean, quick exchange, and plays through the ball well. Short, athletic arm action, high-3/4 slot; throws carry well across the infield at 82 mph. Offensively, shows present bat speed and loose hands; recorded 82 mph exit velocity. Also ran a 7.14 show. With more physical development, McKelvey has the natural athleticism to become one of the better middle infield prospects in Wisconsin’s 2017 class.

11. Kyle Sinclair, 3B, Bradford, 2016
6-foot, 185-pound, right-handed hitting third baseman. In the field has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Plays thru the ball with soft hands and a clean exchange. Threw 81 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from an open stance, smooth load with a leg kick stride. Lind drive gap-to-gap hitter with a short swing path and extension. Good approach with a fast bat. Hard contact with a loose athletic swing. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity form a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.52.

12. Stephen Lund, C/3B, Verona Area, 2018
5-foot-11, 175-pound, right-handed hitting C/3B. Behind the plate has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Accurate throws with carry. Fluid footwork with a quick clean transfer. Popped 2.03-2.14 and threw 74 mph from the crouch. Profiles as a corner infielder with slower actions. Has a long arm action form a high ¾ arm slot with accuracy. Threw 78 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from an open stance with a short stride and good balance. Short level swing path with extension. Fluid rhythm with a fast bat. Showed present strength thru contact with 91 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.30. High level prospect who will continue to improve with maturity.

13. Connor Bagnieski, MIF, Bay Port HS, 2016
5-foot-8, 150-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. Offensively, hits from tall, narrow, open setup, high hands, uses toe-tap for timing, gets to square hitting position consistently. Demonstrates loose, easy hands with some barrel whip through zone; 74 mph exit velocity. Defensively, shows solid infield actions and was clocked at 73 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.58 60.

14. Kevin Hussey, INF/RHP, Columbus, 2016
Physical, 6-foot-3, 210-pound infielder, strong build, athletic. Offensively hits from the right-side, balanced stance, short stride, solid balance. Strong bat, level path, flashed pop, physical hitter. 92 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.42 runner in the 60. Defensively showed body control, plays through the baseball, occasional glove pat exchange. Short loose arm action, 83 mph across the diamond. On the mound delivery is easy, works online, simple and repeatable. Arm action is short and loose, over the top slot. Fastball showed control, sat 82-84 mph, touched 86, mostly straight four seam action. Curveball works on 12/6 plane, slight arm deceleration, ranged 61-68 mph. Changeup has feel, slower arm speed, good feel of the zone, 66-70 mph.

15. Brady Butler, INF, McFarland, 2018
Lanky frame, 6-foot-1, 160-pound infielder, thin build. Defensively showed soft hands, good actions, plays through the baseball, natural infield defender. Played easy with body control and athleticism. Arm action is short, over the top slot, played accurately, athletic arm action when on the move. 70 mph across the diamond. Hits from the right side, balanced stance, short stride, good balance. Hands are loose, some bat speed, path is level, line drive approach. 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.39 runner in the 60.

Jason Abatto, 3B, Kettle Moraine, 2017
5-foot-7, 160-pound left-handed hitting infielder, stocky build with strength. Balanced stance, short heel lift stride. Compact swing, occasionally rotational, shows the ability to be short to the baseball. Line drive type, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Bat shows upside. Displayed some infield actions, most likely third base type. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot. 73 mph across the diamond. Ran the 60 at 7.99.

Jake Arens, 1B, Mauston, 2016
5-foot-11, 210-pound, right-handed hitting first baseman. In the field has a long, floppy arm action from a high ¾ arm slot with slower actions. Threw 62 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a slightly open stance with a short toe-tap stride. Drops and drive backside with a short uphill swing path. 69 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.35.

Brady Baltus, SS, Assumption, 2016
5-foot-10, 180-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop. In the field has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Average arm strength with a long exchange. Threw 73 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and average balance. Line drive hitter with a long swing path. 71 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 6.99.

Jack Becker, INF, Arrowhead, 2017
6-foot-1, 185-pound infielder, longer frame, slender build. Offensively hits from the right side, open stance, loads hands back, short stride with slight dive. Path is level, hands worked, 76 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed athleticism and body control, moved well with some natural actions, hands have softness. Arm actionis short, high ¾ slot, 75 mph across the diamond. 7.40 runner in the 60.

Sam Beers, 3B, Milton HS, 2018
5-foot-8, 130-pound third baseman. Offensively hits from balanced setup, maintains balance through contact, longer path, registered 73 mph exit velocity. Defensively, was clocked at 65 mph across the infield and ran an 8.45 60.

Ryan Berger, 1B, West Salem, 2018
6-foot, 220-pound infielder, right-handed hitting first baseman. Balanced stance, short stride, pull side power approach, has strength for age. 80 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed solid footwork around the bag. Arm played from a high ¾ slot, short arm action. 64 mph across the diamond. 9.03 runner in the 60.

Luke Bradley, 2B/RHP, Arrowhead, 2017
5-foot-11, 155-pound, right-handed hitting 2B/RHP with a lanky athletic frame. In the field has a long loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Flashed some carry on throws with average hands and a long exchange. Threw 79 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and average balance. Line drive hitter with a level swing path. 77 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.41. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall with a slight cross fire delivery. Toe down at balance point with level shoulders throughout delivery. Regular effort with some rhythm. Worked downhill with fastball that showed occasional cut at 75-78 topping out at 79 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with occasional sharp action at 63-65 mph. Changeup sat 67-70 mph. Will continue to improve with maturity.

Daniel Buetow-Hahn, MIF, Cudahy HS, 2018
5-foot-4, 111-pound middle infielder. Hits from balanced setup, repeats swing, quiet mechanics, sinks eye-level on load. Level bat path, line-drive swing, maintains balance through contact. Registered 75 mph exit velocity. Defensively, demonstrated soft, reliable hands, short arm action from high-3/4 slot; clocked at 64 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.57 60.

Riley Caracci, 1B, Kimberly, 2017
6-foot-1, 180-pound first baseman. Balanced stance, short stride. Path works with length, uppercut path, 70 mph exit velocity from the tee. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot around the bag. 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. 8.34 runner in the 60, laser timed.

Joshua Christensen, INF, Shoreland, 2017
6-foot-1, 170-pound infielder, good frame, lean and athletic shape. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, short stride back to even, lower half slightly collapses. Solid bat speed for his age, uppercut path, pull side approach. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses along arm action across the diamond, accurate and played on line at 75 mph. Projects as a corner infield type. 7.38 runner in the 60.

Randon Dauman, RHP/INF, Columbus, 2018
5-foot-11, 150-pound two-way player, slender build, medium frame, has room to fill out. Projects more on the mound. Tall and fall delivery with good balance and direction, no glaring flaws mechanically. Arm action is clean, high ¾ slot, long high draw out of the glove then works quick to release. Fastball has life to it, topped out at 83 mph, sat 79-82 mph. Throws a 12/6 downer curveball, throws hard highly aggressive, flashes sharp action, 71-74 mph, also showed good feel, highly advanced for age. Slightly decelerates arm action on changeup, 68-72 mph, left mostly arm side, lacks conviction. High ceiling arm, projects for plenty more velocity down the road. Hits from a slightly open stance, short stride, lower half collapses some, hits off back side. Sweeping path, with athletic bat speed. 79 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed advanced arm strength across the diamond for his age, 82 mph across the diamond. Comes out quick with carry. Average defender, athletic actions, shows aptitude to field at his level. 7.29 runner in the 60.

Hunter DeSmet, RHP/3B, Holmen, 2017
5-foot-11, 165-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/3B. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short quick arm action. Some stiffness. Turns over rubber to load with an online delivery. Square landing with level shoulders throughout and some rhythm. Fastball showed late life at 78-81 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape at 64-66 mph. Threw changeup for strikes own in the zone with fastball armspeed at 69-72 mph. In the field has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Threw 77 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with average balance. Showed strength thru contact with 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.52. 

Christian Gerner, INF, Milwaukee Lutheran, 2016
5-foot-10, 150-pound infielder, average frame, slender build. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup, short leg lift stride, lower half works. Slightly uphill path, pull side tendencies, 72 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a long high ¾ arm action across the diamond, showed accuracy, 72 mph. Hands are playable, worked out in front, played through the baseball with solid actions. Ran the 60 at 7.26.

Johannes Haakenson, 2B, Evansville HS, 2018
5-foot-5, 115-pound second baseman. Shows smooth defensive actions for age; soft hands, fields ball out front, feet work in concert, plays through ball well. Clocked at 64 mph across infield with some accuracy. Offensively, hits from slightly open setup, simple, quiet swing, level path; recorded 72 mph exit velocity. Ran a 8.06 60.

Bryce Hanson, INF, Sun Prairie, 2016
6-foot, 170-pound infielder, athletic shape. Right-handed hitter, open stance, short stride back to even, average balance. Worked the middle of the field well, stays inside the baseball. 77 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively played with solid actions, plays through the baseball showed footwork. 7.11 runner in the 60. Arm played long and lose, high ¾ slot, can play lower on the move, 76 mph across the diamond.

Peyton Henry, SS/RHP, Columbus, 2017
6-foot-1, 170-pound, right-handed hitting SS/RHP. In the field has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Threw 79 mph across the infield. In the outfield has a long arm action from an over the top arm slot. Plays thru the ball with online actions. Threw 78 mph from the outfield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and average balance. Opposite field hitter with a long uphill swing path. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.34. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with a slightly open landing and level shoulders. Fastball sat 78-80 mph. Slider sat 63-65 mph. Straight changeup sat 71-75 mph.

Jack Jarecki, SS, Marquette University, 2018
5-foot-11, 168-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop. In the field has a short clean arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Average hands with slower actions an a clean exchange. Threw 72 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and average balance. Gap to gap hitter with average bat speed and a high one arm finish. 81 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.21. Will continue to improve with maturity.

Jim Jarecki, 1B/RHP, Marquette University, 2016
Extra-large frame, 6-foot-7, 220-pound two-way player. On the mound delivery repeats, little effort. Arm action is loose, long draw, slight slinging action, ¾ slot. Fastball shows run, sits 80-81, touched 82 mph. Slightly slower arm speed on curveball, 64-68 mph. Sinking changeup at 68-70 mph. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride. Long path, flashes occasional pop, good bat speed. 95 mph exit velocity from the tee.

Ryan Kaul, C/3B, Beaver Dam, 2016
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitting C/3B hits from a tall, open setup, short stride, short, slightly uphill bat path, solid contact, average bat speed, 80 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, pop times ranged from 2.15-2.22 to second base, 73 mph out of the crouch from short, over-the-top arm slot. Threw 70 mph across the diamond during infield drills, same short arm action, lower slot. Average hands fielding the baseball, plays upright. Ran a 7.28 60.

Brodie Klukas, C/3B, Janesville Parker, 2018
5-foot-11, 168-pound, right-handed hitting utility player. Behind the plate has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Tall receiver, popped 2.19-2.29 from the crouch. In the infield has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Average hands with slower actions. Threw 74 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a closed stance with a leg kick stride and average balance. Long, uphill swing path with average bat speed. Will improve with better timing. 79 mph exit velocity from a tee. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long sweepy arm action. Crossfire delivery with a closed landing. Fastball showed occasional cut at 73-75 topping out at 77 mph. Curveball sat 61-64 mph. Changeup sat 67-70 mph. Will continue to improve with maturity.

Tanner Kohlhepp, SS, Eau Claire Memorial HS, 2018
Lanky 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame, long limbs. Left-handed hitting infielder, loose athletic arm action, 3/4 slot, throws have considerable carry for age, 78 mph. Shows solid infield actions, which should continue to improve as he fills into his frame. Offensively, hits from left side, average bat speed, heavy shoulder involvement in swing. Recorded 78 mph exit velocity and ran an 8.07 60.

Cameron Kolbe, 1B/RHP, Appleton North, 2017
6-foot-3, 275-pound first baseman with strength. Right-handed hitter, open stance, short stride, occasionally stays open. Pull side power approach, slight uppercut path, looks to lift with hard contact. 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.78 runner. Feet worked well around the bag showed feel for it, natural first base actions, better feet than 60 time would dictate. Arm plays at 72 mph across the diamond. On the mound arm works with long draw, over the top slot. Fastball is mostly straight, 76-77 mph, topped out at 80 mph. Curveball has gradual action, 61-64 mph, 11/5 plane. Changeup fades arm side, 65-70 mph.

Jack Kraus, C/INF, Neenah, 2017
6-foot-1, 225-pound catcher/corner infielder, carries strength. Power potential bat, open stance, short stride. Made hard contact, showed pop in cages, strong swing. 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed bat speed, with pull side power approach. Short arm action, over the top slot, some carry, arm played better out of the crouch. 74 mph both from the crouch and across the diamond. 2.19-2.27 pop times, good exchange out of the crouch, gets right into throwing slot. Showed the ability to block well. Projects better behind the plate.

Nathan Krueger, RHP/INF, Florence, 2017
5-foot-10, 160-pound two-way player. On the mound arm action is long, firm and over the top. Tall and fall delivery, toe up into balance position, closed landing, works over firm front side. Fastball is straight at 67-70 mph, topped out at 71 mph. Curveball has gradual action, 55-63 mph, dropped in for strikes out of the stretch. Changeup sat 57-61 mph. Hits from a slightly closed stance, long stride, mostly upper half swing. Hits off back side, 73 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action is long and over the top, 70 mph across infield. Hands should field out in front more.

Dylan Krumrei, INF/RHP, Oshkosh North, 2019
Lean athletic build, 6.-foot-2, 155-pound two-way player, projectable frame. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride. Hands are loose, creates some whip, slightly longer path on a level plane, line drive type. 80 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed actions defensively, clean hands. Arm worked well, loose an free, high ¾ slot and accurate. On the mound works with an easy delivery, works online. Fastball had occasional cut action, 73-74 mph. Curveball has 11/5 action, 60-65 mph. Changeup has arm side action, 63-65 mph.

Garrett LaBreche, 2B, Tremper, 2017
5-foot-11, 155-pound, left-handed hitting second baseman with a lanky build. In the field has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with average arm strength. Plays thru the ball with soft hands a fluid footwork. Good body control. Threw 73 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride. Line drive hitter with a short uphill swing path and fluid rhythm. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.54.

Tristan Largent, 1B/LHP, Verona Area, 2018
5-foot-11, 200-pound, left-handed hitting 1B/LHP. In the field has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot with slower actions. Threw 64 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a wide balanced setup with a short heel-lift stride. Opposite field hitter with a short level swing path. 74 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.19. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with regular effort and a square landing. Threw fastball for strikes at 67-69 topping out at 71 mph. Slider showed 2-8 and sweeping action at 56-59 mph. Changeup sat 63-65 mph.

Cody Link, 1B/RHP, Edgewood, 2016
Advanced frame, 6-foot-5, 210-pound right-handed two-way player. On the mound arm action is long with high draw, high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 80-82 mph, showed some feel for the zone. Curveball has depth, 12/6 action, 70-71 mph. Straight changeup at 76-77 mph. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride. Hard contact, creates some whip, level path with fast bat, 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Above average defender around the bag, athletic, moves well. Graded out even better in infield, future 3B, impressed with carry on throws, and infield actions. At the plate, hits from a wide, balanced setup, short stride, short, path, gap-to-gap approach, above average bat speed for age, 82 mph exit velocity off the tee. Ran a 7.8 60. On the mound, fastball sat 77-79 mph from short, over-the-top arm slot, tall/fall delivery, toe down at balance point, loads lower half over the rubber, level shoulders throughout delivery, lands in line with home plate. 12/6 curveball thrown from 59-62 mph, occasional late break. In the field has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Plays thru the ball with soft hands and fluid footwork. Projects for 3B. Threw 78 mph across the infield. Jordan Nolle, RHP/SS, Bay Port HS, 2017
5-foot-10, 145-pound two-way player. Ran a 7.09 60 and was clocked at 74 mph across the infield. Offensively, he registered a 77 mph exit velocity. On the mound, the right-hander works from a over-the-top slot, short arm action. Fastball sat 74-76 while his curveball ranged between 63-65. He threw his 66-68 mph changeup for strikes.

Sean O’Brien, RHP/3B, Marquette University, 2018
6-foot, 175-pound two-way player, average frame, slender build. Defensively fields out in front, works through the baseball, mechanical actions. Arm plays short and over the top, 76 mph across the diamond. Hits from the right side, balanced stance, loads hands, short stride. Slight uppercut path, bat speed present, 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. On the mound delivery works with ease, short high ¾ arm action. Projects better on the mound. Fastball was mostly down, 76-78 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, gradual action, 61-64 mph. Straight change showed feel at the bottom of the zone, 72-74 mph.

6-foot-2, 195-pound, left-handed hitting third baseman. At the plate hits from a crouched, balanced setup with a high hand set. Loads to backside with a slight wrap and a short stride. Power approach at the plate with a long level swing and flashes good batspeed. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.91. Did not participate in defensive drills.

5-foot-11, 165-pound, right-handed hitting second baseman. In the field has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Average arm strength with slower actions. Threw 71 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced knee-to-knee setup with inward facing front foot. Quick leg kick stride with a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 88 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.47.

5-foot-8, 155-pound infielder. Offensively, hits from balanced setup, uses reverse toe-tap, uphill bat path, 77 mph exit velocity. Defensively, he was clocked at 68 mph across the field and ran an 8.14 60.

Paul Petit, RHP/OF/INF, Regis, 2017
5-foot-11, 165-pound two-way player, lean athletic frame, sloped shoulders, projects well. On the mound uses a high leg kick, loads well over rubber, works smoothly down the hill. Short quick arm action from a high ¾ slot, good arm speed, projects for continued velocity. Fastball pitched at 79-80 mph, topped out at 82 mph. Curveball works on 12/6 plane, flashed late action, controlled better from the stretch. Changeup sat 67-69 mph, mostly straight, fastball comparable arm speed. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, short stride. Loose athletic hands, path worked well, hit in rhythm. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed arm strength defensively, 85 mph from the outfield, 80 mph across the infield. Better actions in the outfield, played through the baseball with crowhop. Well above average runner for age, 7.07 in the 60.

Quinn Pierner, SS/RHP, Bay Port, 2017
6-foot, 186-pound, right-handed hitting SS/RHP. In the field has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Some accuracy with average arm strength. Projects as a corner infielder. Threw 75 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a wide, balanced setup with a back load and heel-lift stride. Long, level swing path. 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.40. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Closed landing spinning off towards 1st base on heel. Threw fastball for strikes at 74-77 mph. Large frame, good projectable body, 6-foot-2, 193-pound right-handed first baseman. Offensively hits from the right side, balanced stance, leg kick trigger. Path stays on top of the baseball, creates backspin, short to the baseball, gap to gap type hitter. 76 mph exit velocity from the tee. Solid footwork around the bag, showed knowledge of the position. Arm played at 61 mph across the diamond. 8.53 runner.

Hunter Ruediger, RHP/3B, Menomonee, Falls, 2016
6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed hitting two-way player. On the mound, delivery works online, high ¾ arm slot, long, rigid arm action. Fastball is mostly straight, works at 77-79 mph, dips slightly in the stretch, 74-75 mph. Curveball spins with occasional back up action, 61-62 mph. Changeup is mostly straight, 67-70 mph. Hits from the left side, balanced stance, short stride. Uppercut path with length, occasional hard lifted contact. 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Long arm action across the diamond, ¾ slot, 72 mph. Ran the 60 at 7.51.

6-foot-3, 175-pound two-way player, lean projectable frame, slightly wider/squared shoulders. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride, lower half can get more active, maintains good balance. Late trigger at times, path is short, occasional uppercut path. 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Runs the 60 at 7.14, good runner for his position. Showed athleticism around the bag, has feel for his footwork. Arm action is short, high 3/4, 71 mph across the diamond. Proper first base actions. On the mound works out of a slight crossfire delivery. Short arm action, high ¾ slot Fastball sits 75-77 mph, touched 78 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 58-61 mph. Changeup is mostly straight, 65-67 mph.

5-foot-10, 155-pound infielder, average build. Right-handed hitter, wider setup, heel lift stride. Long level path, linear approach, weight shift timing hitter. 73 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a a short over the top arm action, 73 mph across the diamond. Average hands, exchange can get quicker. 7.26 runner in the 60.

Brett Strode, INF, McFarland, 2018
5-foot-9, 180-pound infielder, stocky build with some strength for age. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, short stride, lower half works. Short steep path to the baseball, occasionally late trigger, opposite field contact. 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Occasionally played through the baseball, heavier feet, can play more to the balls of his feet. 8.08 runner in the 60. Arm action is loose, high ¾ slot, good arm strength for age, 77 mph across the diamond, third base projectability.

5-foot-10, 155-pound infielder, medium frame. Good defensive actions, hands work well, showed softness, fluid actions through the baseball, clean exchange. Arm works over the top, accurate arm with some carry, above average arm strength. 80 mph across the diamond. Can play on the move as well with an athletic arm action. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup, short stride. Compact swing, line drive approach, looks to stay on top of the baseball. 77 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.69 runner.

5-foot-11, 165-pound, right-handed hitting LHP/1B. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short clean arm action. Tall and fall delivery, toe down at balance point, opens up to 3rd base side. Level shoulder throughout delivery with some rhythm. Fastball flashed occasional cut at71-72 topping out at 74 mph. Slider showed cutter action with 2-8 shape and short, late break at 64-66 mph. Changeup sat 66-69 mph. In the field works from a high ¾ arm slot with average hands and slower actions. Threw 72 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a tall balanced setup. Starts high and drops hands on load with a short stride. Long level swing path. 77 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.50. Will continue to improve with maturity.

Colten Thomas, RHP/3B, Germantown, 2018
6-foot, 175-pound two-way player, long limbed, projects more on the mound. Delivery works slightly uphill, regular effort. Long arm action with high draw, high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 76-78 mph, mostly up and arm side, arm action can get on time with delivery to get the ball down in the zone more. Curveball sat 62-64 mph, gradual action. 5-foot-11, 140-pound two-way player, hits from a balanced stance, short toe tap stride, sets hands high, slight arm bar load. Path works down to the baseball, recorded exit velocity at 75 mph from the tee. Showed arm strength for his age, 80 mph from outfield crowhop, 73 mph across the diamond. Showed actions both on infield and outfield, good crowhop, arm showed carry. Infield actions worked, solid hands. On the mound arm action is long and firm, over the top slot. Fastball showed average control for age, sat 75-77 mph. Breaking ball works on 11/5 plane, 62-64 mph. Changeup has tendency to decelerate arm action, 62-66 mph, slight sink.

6-foot, 173-pound infielder, lean frame. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, maintains balance through contact, loads hands back. 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Solid path, line drive type hitter. Defensively played with a short over the top arm action, solid arm strength, 77 mph across the diamond. Average hands, plays through the baseball longer release. 7.76 runner in the 60.

5-foot-9, 135-pound multi-positional player, thin build with some projection. Hits from a slightly open stance, short stride, average balance. Showed loose hands at the plate, good bat speed for his age, uppercut path. 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed arm strength for his age, 78 mph across the diamond, 79 mph from the outfield. Showed some athleticism defensively, hands showed softness on the infield, most likely projects better there. Showed the ability to play through the baseball, solid footwork and actions. 7.69 runner in the 60.
