The MCYSA International Showcase took place on Tuesday July 28th at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, IL. Today we start the analysis with position players.
2018 SS Danny Borgstrom leads the list of top postion players. Borgstrom showed soft, sure hands in the field with fluid footwork and a strong arm.
Jeremy Davis took the No. 3 spot showing a fluid left handed swing and solid foot speed on a slow track running the 60 at 6.89.

Top Prospects
1. Danny Borgstrom, SS/RHP, Morris, 2018
5-foot-9, 145-pound, left-handed hitting SS/RHP with an athletic frame. Defensively has a short-arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Accurate throws with carry. Soft, sure hands with quick fluid footwork. Athletic fielder, plays thru the ball. Threw 79 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly open stance with a smooth load and short stride. Line-drive hitter with good balance and rhythm. Short path, with pull tendencies. 79 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.33. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a short-arm action. Tall and fall online delivery, gets extension on his front side. From the stretch uses a slide step. Fastball sat 78-80 topping out at 81 mph showing slight cutting action. Curveball showed sweeping action at 69-70 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup at 70-72 mph.

6-foot, 145-pound, left-handed hitting shortstop with a lanky, projectable frame. Defensively has a short-arm action from a ¾ arm slot with carry on throws. Soft hands with fluid footwork and a clean exchange. Athletic actions with good body control. Threw 75 mph across the infield. Offensively hits from a wide, slightly open stance. Short stride with a linear lower half. Short, level swing path with a fast bat and fluid rhythm. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.53. Will continue to improve with maturity.

5-foot-11, 155-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder with an athletic frame. Ran the 60 at 6.89. Offensively hits from a tall, open stance with a smooth load and leg kick stride. Creates whip with the hands and flashes a fast bat. Line drive pull hitter with fluid rhythm. Showed strength thru contact with 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Quick arm flashed carry on throws. Plays thru the ball with fluid footwork and average hands. Threw 79 mph from the outfield.
4. Rich Campbell, RHP/OF, Loyola, 2017
6-foot-1, 165-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/OF with an athletic frame. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a long quick arm action. Online delivery with a slightly closed landing and an upright finish. Fastball showed heavy running action at 81-84 mph. Slowed arm on curveball with 11-5 shape at 65-69 mph. Changeup showed armside run at 73-76 mph. Slider was best breaking ball at 70-71 mph. Defensively has a long arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Carry on throws with some accuracy.
