The 2015 Labor Day Challenge will take place September 5 – 6 at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood, IL. This year’s event features five high level teams with prospects from around the state of Illinois and beyond.

Throughout the week we will be bringing a quick preview as to what to look for out of the participating teams. Today we highlight Team Southern Illinois.

The Southern Illinois team is comprised of prospect throughout the Metro East area. Edwardsville, O’Fallon and Alton make up the majority of the roster with a few other surrounding schools sprinkled in. One of those surrounding schools represented is Belleville East’s C Drew Millas (2016). Millas stood out in this same tournament last year and catapulted himself into a top 50 prospect in the state, later committing to Missouri State.  

Southern Illinois bring another highly ranked prospect in the 2016 class by way of O’Fallon’s Brad Harrison. Harrison, a Southern Illinois commit, is a top 40 prospect in Illinois as well as making the top 400 in our overall rankings. Harrison is a L/L outfielder and pitcher who will likely bolster the middle of Team Southern Illinois’ lineup as well as logging valuable innings on the mound.
