Several more players have named their schools recently, including a pair of 2015 pitchers. A look at who’s going where:

+ Bradley University wrapped up its third top 50 Class of 2015 prospect in as many weeks when the Braves landed a commitment from LHP/1B Jake Hurst (Peoria Notre Dame HS). The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Hurst, who’s ranked No. 58 in Illinois’ 2015 class, burst onto the scene as a sophomore when he earned top prospect honors at the Underclass Invitational.  Hurst joins high school teammate C/OF Andy Shadid and RHP Mitchell Janssen (Princeville HS) in the Braves’ 2015 class.

+ Another 2015 prospect made his pledge when Cal Jarrett, a 6-foot-2 RHP from Dixon HS, committed to the University of Cincinnati. Currently ranked No. 68 in Illinois’ 2015 class, Jarrett features a lively fastball and has a lot of deception in his delivery.

+ The top unsigned senior in Illinois is now off the board, as MIF Don Buonavolanto (Hinsdale South HS) has committed to Northern Illinois. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Buonavolanto is currently ranked No. 44 in Illinois and No. 226 overall. A top-level athlete, Buonavolanto ran a 6.52 60 at a previous Prep Baseball Report event.  

+ Aaron Fuller, a senior OF from St. Rita HS, has committed to John A. Logan JC.  The highly athletic 5-foot-11, 190-pound Fuller is currently ranked No. 60 in Illinois’ 2014 class and No. 306 overall. A physical athlete, Fuller ran a 6.60 60 at a past PBR event, and was clocked at 84 mph from the outfield.

+ Andrew Mack, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound senior RHP from Libertyville HS, has committed to Grinnell. Mack helped lead Libertyville to the Class 4A state championship game as a junior.

+ Nick Bruno, a 6-foot-7 senior RHP/1B from Rockford Boylan HS, has committed to Kirkwood CC in Iowa.

+ Former Jacobs HS standout Mark Self, who’s currently at John A. Logan JC, has committed to the University of Illinois-Springfield. The left-handed hitter, who graduated from Jacobs in 2012, will attend Springfield in 2015.
