More Class of 2014 prospects have named their schools recently:
+ Tim DalPorto, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound INF/C from Nazareth Academy HS, has committed to Kent State University. A three-year varsity starter, DalPorto has been a mainstay in the Roadrunners’ left side of the infield since his sophomore year, but he was recruited as a catcher, Nazareth coach Lee Milano said. A member of Team Illinois at the Midwest Future Games in 2012, DalPorto is currently ranked No. 95 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
+ Tyler Vaughn, a physical 6-foot-3, 205-pound RHP/INF from Anna-Jonesboro HS, has committed to Belmont University. Vaughn showed well at the PBR Illinois Top Prospect Showcase in June, when he sat 85-86 mph with his fastball. Vaughn showed his arm strength in the field, as well, clocked at 83 mph from shortstop while running a 7.39 60. Vaughn is currently ranked No. 114 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
+ John Crosby, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound RHP from DeKalb HS, has committed to St. Cloud State in Minnesota. At the PBR Preseason All-State Showcase last February, Crosby sat 81-84 with his fastball to go along with a 70-72 curveball and a 75-76 changeup. Crosby is currently ranked No. 122 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
+ Tyler Horchem, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound OF from Lincoln HS, has committed to John A. Logan JC.
