+ Kevin Sullivan, a left-handed hitting SS from Brother Rice HS, has committed to Middle Tennessee State. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Sullivan was one of the faster-rising position players in Illinois’ 2014 class after his showing at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase, where he ran a 6.89 60, was clocked 84 mph across the infield, and showed a balanced left-handed swing. Sullivan is currently ranked No. 70 in Illinois’ 2014 class. He also marks the second Illinois prospect to verbal to Middle Tennessee State, joining RHP Will Kincanon from Riverside-Brookfield HS.
+ Colin Holderman, a 6-foot-5 RHP from Bradley-Bourbonnais HS, has committed to Southern Illinois. Holderman, who’s ranked No. 20 in Illinois’ 2014 class, emerged this summer as a high-interest prospect after he consistently showed upper-80s velocity. Holderman gives Southern Illinois two top 20 recruits, joining Moline OF Braden Mosley.
+ Ryan Dunne, a 2013 RHP from Peoria Richwoods HS, has committed to John A. Logan JC. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Dunne is ranked No. 70 in Illinois’ 2013 class. At past PBR events, Dunne has shown an 85-89 mph fastball to go along with a sharp 74-76 curveball and 76-78 mph changeup.
+ Kyle Polaski, a 6-foot, 175-pound RHP from Joliet Catholic Academy HS, commits to Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida. Polaski helped the Hilltoppers to the Class 3A state championship. Polaski is currently ranked No. 199 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
+ Nick Newman, a 5-foot-10, 155-pound RHP from Vernon Hills HS, commits to St. Cloud State in Minnesota.
+ Kurtis Brown, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound 2013 left-handed hitting 1B from Champaign Central HS, has de-committed from Bellarmine and will now attend Richmond in Virginia.
