More Class of 2014 ranked prospects have named their schools recently. Here’s a look at who’s going where:
+ Ball State landed a coup when it received a verbal commitment from Plainfield South LHP Trevor Henderson. The wide-shouldered 6-foot-4, 215-pound Henderson is currently ranked No. 27 in Illinois’ 2014 class and 115 overall. Henderson commands the strike zone with three pitches, including a mid-80s fastball and one of the better breaking balls in the class.
+ Dylan Rosa, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound 3B/RHP from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Kent State. Rosa emerged in the spring as a legitimate two-way prospect, and he continued to see his stock climb this summer. Rosa is currently ranked No. 134 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
+ Nate Soria, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound catcher from St. Rita HS, has committed to Xavier University. Soria, who’s ranked No. 64 in Illinois’ 2014 class, is one of the better defensive catchers in the state.
+ Riley Peltier, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound RHP from Jacobs HS, has committed to McHenry County College. Peltier is currently ranked No. 80 in Illinois’ 2014 class.
