Illinois 2023 Watch List: Two-Way Players
October 16, 2020
On Oct. 8, PBR Illinois released its first ever Class of 2023 Illinois rankings with a modest list of the 25 best prospects we have seen to date. We followed up with a deeper dive into the rankings looking at the noteworthy prospects outside of our Top-10 list.
We began the Illinois 2023 Watch List with a look at eight noteworthy pitchers. Today we continue our Illinois 2023 content with an Illinois 2023 Watch List: Two-Ways. All the players in the list below are uncommitted prospects who have attended events as two-way prospects. Some may have a slight edge on the mound or with the bat but for now, especially due to how young the are, should still be considered two-way prospects.
Read on below for some 2023s two-ways to follow, listed alphabetically.
ILLINOIS 2023 WATCH LIST: TWO-WAY
LOGAN BARNETTC / RHP / PONTIAC, IL / 2023Report from PBR At The Rock 6/18/20: One of the strongest arms of the tournament belonged to Barnett, a physical specimen listed at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds. Arm strength comes from a high ¾ slot to over-the-top slot. His fastball sat 82-84 mph for much of his outing on Friday with heavy, late boring action. The curveball varies in shape and action and sat 70-72 mph. Given his frame and arm speed, Barnett warrants a high-follow status moving forward. (Pitching: 7.21.20)
