Class of 2017 Showcase Preview Story: Roster and Check-in Times

The Prep Baseball Report Class of 2017 Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2015. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2017 graduates, and several colleges should be in attendance.

Spots are limited, but there is still time to register for this Sunday’s event. CLICK HERE to sign up for the Class of 2017 Showcase.

Last year’s event featured a number of interesting prospects and eight of them have already committed to Division I programs.

Last year 1B/OF Christan Bullock (Morgan Park) ranked No. 21 in Illinois was in attendance. Bullock is a left/left athlete that runs a 6.76 60 and eventually committed to Michigan. Shortstop Jimmy Day (Barrington) took one of the best rounds of batting practice at last year’s event and ended up committing to Evansville.

Last year’s event was also deep in pitching featuring LHP Tyler Hankins (South Elgin) who committed to Central Michigan, RHP Dylan Mulvihill (Evanston) committed to Penn, Brandon Petersen (Waubonsie Valley) committed to Western Michigan and Michael Sebby (Glenbard East) committed to Illinois State, just to name a few.

This year’s showcase looks to have the same amount of talent if not more than last years. CLICK HERE for this year’s roster for the Class of 2017 Showcase, which includes several prospects who have made an impression on the PBR scouting staff already in the past year.

RHP Austin Marozas (Plainfield South), OF Mike Addante (Jacobs) and INF/OF Easton Bertrand (Manteno) are all ranked in the Top 30 in the state of Illinois.

Infielder John Carpinelli (Buffalo Grove) was one of the better left-handed bats in the 2017 class that we saw this fall. Another infielder Lee Musgraves (Von Stuben) impressed at the Chicagoland Open this past August will be in attendance.

Check-In times for the Class of 2017 Showcase are as follows:

Position Players:
8:20-8:40 AM

Pitcher Only:
11:40 AM-12:00 PM

Catchers will stay for both sessions as they will also be evaluated while catching bullpens.

The event should end around 12:00 pm for position players. The last pitcher should conclude around 3:30 pm
