CSN vs. Southern Idaho: Scout Blog
January 30, 2021
Game 2 started off similar to Game 1, except it was College of Southern Idaho that jumped out to the early 3-0 lead with the help of some small ball, an RBI single to left field by Zach Schmidt, a walk and pair of wild pitches. Then in the bottom half, the Coyotes managed to scratch one across.
After a shaky first, Trey Frahm (@treyfrahm), has settled in, pitching backwards and striking out the side in the second. Topped out at 91 on a brisk night with his curveball being his best pitch, helping him strike out 7 through 3 innings #BeSeen@CSN_Baseball | @PBR_JUCO pic.twitter.com/H9pntRsEPP

After a rocky first, Frahm seemed to settle in with better command of each of his pitches even mixing a changeup into his mostly fastball/curveball mix. He isn’t sitting at his usually low to mid 90 range, but he lived down with some arm side action to compliment his downhill plane. The command of his breaking ball was the difference between his first inning and the rest of his outing as he begun to pitch backwards and was able to dictate the count early and speed up his fastball.
