2024 Idaho State Games Quick Hits: Upperclass

The Idaho State Games kicked off an exciting Summer season that featured a depth of talent has forced us to break up our Quick Hits feature into Upperclass and Underclass groups to make sure we all players to receive proper recognition. At the two day Idaho State Games, players received an unrivaled amount of data, including, Swift Performance Athletic Testing, Vizual Edge Analysis, TrackMan Analyzed Batting Practice Sessions, Blast Motion Analyzed Batting Practice Sessions, TrackMan Analyzed Pitcher Evaluations and Prep Baseball Verified Height / Weight / Grip Strength Testing. This event allowed players to show their developed skill through objective data collection, followed by Live Game Play to allow for in-game action to also be tracked and highlighted.

Quick Hits - Upperclass

+ Brock Silvers, 2025 IF (Kentucky Commit) - The future Wildcat had himself a day at the plate at the Idaho State Games, as he continues to solidify himself as one of the, if not the, top bat in Idaho's 2025 Class. The 102.3 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity along with the 92.2 mph Average Exit Velocity, showcasing his ability to not only hit for power, but to do it consistently as well. Keep an eye on Silvers this Summer as a big bat who looks to make his name known on the National circuit.

+ Brayden Schaefer, 2025 RHP/IF - Schaefer came away as arguably the biggest winner of the Idaho State Games, showing advanced actions on both sides of the ball, but shining on the mound with his fastball running up to an event best 89.9 mph with curveball proving effective throughout, tunneling well off of his fastball with a Peak Spin Rate of 2497 rpm with late, tight action.

+ Cooper Thompson, 2025 IF - Each time out, Thompson continues to show positive progress being made in his game. The physical corner infield produced one of the top batting practice sessions of the day with a 100.5 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity to go with his event best 92.8 mph Average Exit Velocity. The offensive ability translated from the Day 1 Workout to the Live Game Play on Day 2 with multiple barrels that culminated in only one hit, but proved that Thompson is a threat each time up to the plate.

+ Cade Burnham, 2025 IF - The Idaho representative at the 2023 West Coast Games may have seen his game progress the most over the past few months with new personal bests achieved on both sides of the ball at the Idaho State Games. Following his line drive filled batting practice session, Burnham showed off his improved arm strength with an event best 91 mph Infield Velocity, proving he can stay on the left side of the infield at the next level. This will be a player to watch during a pivital incoming senior Summer.

+ Nick Walborn, 2025 RHP - The 6-foot-2, barrel chested right hander made a significant impression on the Prep Baseball staff as well as the other programs in attendance. Walborn showed off an improved fastball that ran up to 89.5 mph and a much imporved curveball that spun up to 2553 rpm with some tunneling off his fastball, but throws with conviction similar to his fastball. You can expect the Timberline produce to be on a number of radars this Summer.

+ Nathan Keith, 2026 C/IF - In his first event out with us, Keith made an immediate impression with a mature batting practice session that showcase his ability to produce line drives to all fields, followed by a standout performance on the defensive side of the ball. His Infield Velocity of 86 mph ranked him 4th in the event while his Catcher Velocity of 78 mph and Pop Time of 1.91 ranked him in the top spot in both categories. Keith will be one to know in Idaho's 2026 Class.

+ Avrey Cherry, 2025 C - The physical presence of Cherry, standing at 6-foot-4, 201.1 pounds made the trip down to Twin Falls from Northern Idaho and it was worth the trip. His present ability at the plate as well as behind the plate make him a intriguing player to follow with present power numbers coming as he continues to fill out his growing frame. His 6.94 Swift Performance Timed 60 translated well to the defensive side of the ball where his feet worked well, especially for his size, to help him achieve a new personal best Pop Time of 1.93 with each throw on target.

+ Beau Ramsey, 2025 RHP - The 6-foot-6 right hander has seen his game continue to trend along with his fastball velocity, where he ran it up to 81.8 mph at the Boise Preseason ID then saw a +5 mph jump at the Idaho State Game where he ran his fastball up to 86.4 mph with downhill from his high 3/4 slot. His secondary mix continue to show improvements in both commend and effectiveness with much more expected to come as he game continues to develop.

+ Jackson Gardner, 2025 RHP - In today's game, you often hear "Spin Wins" in regards to pitcher's secondary mixes and at the Idaho State Games, no one spun it better than Jackson Gardner where he was +300 rpm above the next best guy. The frame and arm action leads you to believe the velo is coming, but the present spin is already at an elite level with his remade "spike" curveball topping out at 2934 rpms with late, tight action to go with it as struck out 5 batter in the 17 pitches thrown. Do not be surprised if Gardner is one of the first 2025's off the board this Summer.

+ Chance Schreiber, 2025 IF/RHP - Schreiber has a mature, proportionate build to go along with his mature game. The incoming Junior ran it up to 85.9 mph on the mound, but shined on the offensive side of the ball where he earned a 97.1 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity to go along with his 91 mph Average Exit Velocity, proving he can do it consistently. His improvements behind the plate wer evident as well, earning a 1.98 Prep Baseball Verifid Pop Time with improved footwork and accuracy in his throws.

+ Cade Walker, 2025 OF - Fresh of Owyhee's third straight State Title, Walker impress at the Idaho State Games with a loud batting practice session that saw him show off his present pull side power with a 98.9 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity. His 90.9 mph Average Exit Velocity also helped him prove that he could do it on a consistent basis as well.

+ Boomer Collins, 2025 IF - Coming off his breakout Spring season, Collins get the offense started at the Idaho State Games where he showed off more mature approach at the plate, using all fields with excellent barrel awareness. His added physical strength to has translated to increased lateral range, with his arm strength progressing as well with improved carry. Keep Collins on your radar as a player that could make another big jump this Summer.
