PESOTA, IA - This fall, Northeast Iowa Community College annouced their inception of Collegiate Baseball at the institution. The Cougars Baseball program will begin in the fall of 2025, competing in their first season in the spring of 2026. They will be members of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. What is your experience with playing and coaching?

"Played at DMACC and Upper Iowa University. Graduate Assistant at Northern State University for 2 years received Master's Degree in Sport Performance and Leadership. 2 years at Northern State University as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator." 

What do your facilities look like at NICC?

"In the process of outfitting a current on-campus building to be our practice facility. This facility will include a weight room, a development/training area, and a team meeting room. We are in the process of weighing out different field options in the area."

What challenges do you see in being a first year program in 2025?

"Starting a brand new program is an exciting challenge! Our biggest emphasis year one will be to create a cohesive team dynamic. Starting a program from ground zero gives us the opportunity to mold the program around the vision we want to create and the style of baseball we want to play."

Why should an athlete choose to be a part of your school and program?

"There are a number of selling points that make Northeast Iowa CC an attractive option for prospective student-athletes. Our location is top-notch, positioned less than 10 minutes away from Dubuque, while also being located in a part of the state that lives and breathes baseball. Our facilities will feature a brand new weight room and a training & development space that will be turfed with cages to give our players the best resources to develop their game. We have tremendous fully-furnished apartment style living available to our student-athletes, which will make move-in day a seamless process. In addition, with being a brand new program, the opportunities to earn playing time will be readily available. There is truly no better time to join our program at NICC!"

Any other information that should be known about NICC?

"The baseball program will be housed on the Peosta Campus (we have two campuses- the other is in Calmar). NJCAA D2 members. We have a ton of great academic program offerings, and over a dozen different transfer majors to continue your career at a four-year institution."
