PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
SHAW: I have visited Winona State, Upper Iowa, DMACC, Southwestern CC, and Central College. I plan to visit a few more later this month.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
SHAW: I am looking for a school that has a high quality business program with a wide range of options for exploring career paths I would be interested in.
PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
SHAW: Ending the 2016 season with a 1.25 ERA and an Opponent batting average of .192; Waukee making it to State; pitching against a ranked Urbandale team and picking up a 6-0 win giving up just 2 hits in the game; and driving in the game winning RBI against Iowa City West.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
SHAW: It would be awesome for Waukee to have another great season and win State. My goal is to have my era under 1.00 this year. I want to get my velocity on my fastball to 90 by the end of summer or earlier. Another goal is to get my batting average around .400. I would like to develop a slider in the off-season and be able to use that this season. My main focus will be for Waukee to win as many games as possible and to win state.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
SHAW: No
PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
SHAW: My Cumulative GPA is 3.8. I will be taking the ACT again this fall. My previous ACT composite score was a 23.
