Scouting Report

8/6/17- 6-foot-4, 230-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #36 ranked player in IA 2018 class. Large physical build with present strength. Controlled tempo, coils over rubber, high front shoulder, pitches up and over, slightly upright on release. Shows above avg. arm strength with heavy sinking life on fastball. Fastball was 88-91 mph, touching 92 mph, with avg. command of zone. Breaking ball is inconsistent; but flashes enough shape and feel that it could be usable with further development. Hard action on split; thrown with power down in zone. Profiles as hard throwing reliever down road. 5.26 home-to-first time. Body load, rolling hand trigger, above avg. strength, line drive and fly ball contact, 94 mph exit velocity. Above avg. arm, sure hands, avg. actions, makes routine plays, accurate to bag with carry on throws, 90 mph arm across infield.

8/1/16- 6-foot-4, 230-pound right-handed pitcher. Strong durable build. Simple mechanics, repeats well, with short balance point, and solid extension out front. Sinker slider type arm. Moderate effort- turns fastball over early occasionally. Fastball showed hard sinking action at 83-87 mph. 12/6 breaking ball had solid shape and depth. 76-77 mph slider was thrown with intent and flashes future above avg. pitch. Strong follow in IA 2018 class.

3/13/16- 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.62 runner. Short balance point on mound. Controlled delivery. Short on backside and balls comes out clean in front at 82-84 mph; touching 87 once. Firm breaking ball with tight spin and small break. Changeup is heavy with split action and thrown consistently for quality strikes. Velo could take off with better use of lower half in delivery. Open stance. Rolls in to hit. Tends to hook baseball at contact with good strength. Limited use of lower half in swing. Some stiffness in swing plane and finish with 2-hands on bat. 86 mph exit velocity. Shows avg./ok feet. Late glove presentation occasionally. Needs to increase tempo and rhythm. Loose arm action with fast hand. Accurate to bag with 79 mph arm strength.
