Scouting Report

2017 Super 60- Iowa recruit. 6-foot-2, 185-pound left-handed pitcher, athletic build with room for continued physical development; young in the face. Good bloodlines, his father, Steve Dreyer, pitched in the big-leagues. Polished four-pitch feel with high-ceiling potential. Compact, low-effort delivery, repeats well. Athletic arm, short circle in back, quick out front; hides the ball well, high-3/4 slot, works downhill. Fastball topped at 91, sitting 88-90; pounded lower-half of the strike zone with late arm-side life. Works full arsenal of pitches. Curveball has depth, gradual 12/6 break, throws it consistently for strikes at 68-70 mph. Cutter/slider shows potential as swing-and-miss offering; sharp, late action with depth (more slider-ish at 82-83); threw one at 84 mph that had late lateral cutter action. Excellent feel for changeup, 76-78 mph with fading action. True starter profile at the next levels.

10/8/15- 6-foot-2, 170-pound, left-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm circle in back and quick arm action. Good balance throughout delivery with a closed landing. Showed great pitchability with a feel for four pitches. Didn’t show the velocity he had at the future games with his fastball but showed command of it at 81-83 mph. Has both a slider and curveball with different shapes and action. In six innings of work struck out 12 Rhino hitters, walking two, and allowing one hit.

One of the top LHP in state as a sophomore. Projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. Shows ability to command the zone with 3 pitches. Fastball currently low-mid 80's and will continue to improve.
