Name: Duncan Snider
Position: RHP
Class: 2016
Height/Weight: 6-foot-5, 220-pounds
High School: Muscatine
PBR Rank: #42 in IA 2016 Class

PBR: Why did you choose Marshalltown CC?
SNIDER: I chose Marshalltown because I could really see myself there for the next two years after high school. I really liked all of the coaches and staff that I met there on my visit and the facilities are pretty nice there too.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
SNIDER: I was considering Indian Hills Community College as well.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
SNIDER: My coaches first saw me from my recruiting profile. I actually have not pitched in a game since about half-way through my sophomore season due to elbow injuries and recently had surgery this past summer to repair my UCL.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
SNIDER: It’s very relieving to know where I am going next year. I’m just glad I’m still able to play college baseball after all that has gone on with my elbow.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
SNIDER: It’s hard to just say one reason why I chose Marshalltown over other colleges but I’d have to say it was the coaching staff that really made me want to go there.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
SNIDER: My parents have really helped me out a lot to get to where I am today. They have supported me and have done everything they possibly could for me to get healthy again and get back out on the mound.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
SNIDER: I thought the recruiting process was pretty easy for me. I didn’t have much pressure on me as to where to go and I’m really happy with my decision.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
SNIDER: My coaches seemed really excited about me committing and plan on me being a big arm for them next year if I can get back up to what I was throwing as a sophomore.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
SNIDER: My most memorable baseball moment has to be playing baseball with my brother my freshmen year and his senior year and being conference champs that year.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
SNIDER: I’d say the best player I’ve ever played against was A.J. Puk. I pitched against him in a game in the spring of my sophomore year and he actually ended up hitting me with a line drive right back through the middle. I was still able to field the ball and throw him out afterwards though.
