Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds.
Delivery: Rocker step into higher balance point, athletic movements, aggressive down mound, lands inline to catcher.
Arm Action: RH. Compact arm action with above avg. quickness out front.
FB: T87, 86-87 mph. Downhill plane, flashes of life, lacked control of zone for strikes.
CB: 69-71 mph. Hammer type breaking ball; well above depth and spin; swing and miss pitch.
CH: 77-78 mph. Solid action on CH with appropriate fade and sink.
Hit: RHH. Square stance with leg kick trigger, athletic in box, line drive approach, shows bat speed, works mid/pull side of field.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF - 88 mph.
Defense: Softer hands, athletic actions to field, light on his feet, accurate arm with carry to bag.
Run: 6.85 runner in the 60.
Fastball sat 80-82 mph with life through the zone. Curveball was 63-65 mph with 11/5 shape and better feel as the game progressed. Easy arm action and athletic body with room to add strength.
6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 4.58 home to first time. Leg kick trigger, shows pop in bat when on time, larger loading movements effect timing occasionally, loose swing through contact when extended and has ability to drive baseball, 92 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, works through ball, tends to funnel deep and under body, hands are sure with solid overall actions, hitchy release on throws with avg. accuracy to bag, 84 mph arm across infield. On mound; one of top pitchers at event, athletic delivery, compact arm action, slight stab on back side, moderate effort with head whack. Fastball was 83-86 mph with life through zone and late cutting action. Flashes of above avg. breaking ball with late break and high spin. Down action on changeup thrown near fastball arm speed.
7/30/18- 6-foot, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 4.1 H-1B time. Wide stance, knee to knee trigger, quick hands at plate, uphill path, looks to elevate, flashes pull side pop in bat, 90 mph exit velocity. Works around and through baseball, solid hands and feet, late glove presentation occasionally, moves well with fluid athletic actions, 81 mph arm across infield. Athletic in field, occasional hitch before throwing in arm action, has carry and accuracy, works through baseball and has momentum on throws, 86 mph arm from outfield. On mound, Uptempo delivery, has body control, longer stride down mound using lower half, lands inline, athletic arm action out front, hard head whack on release. Fastball was 78-82 mph with late running action. Tight spin with sharp break at 67-69 mph. Shows late sinking action on changeup for strikes. Good tools for age and strong follow in Iowa 2021 class.
3/11/18- 5-foot-11, 145-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.6 runner. Slight open stance, knee to knee trigger, loose line drive swing, loses posture through contact which should improve with added strength, uses whole field, consistent contact, above avg. round of bp, 84 mph exit velocity. Athletic actions, moves well in field, sure hands, above avg. arm for age, 82 mph arm across infield. On mound; high athletic balance point, loose actions, shows tempo and rhythm in delivery. Varying run and cut action on fastball at 79-81 mph for strikes. Has sharp break on 11/5 curveball with solid depth. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed, slightly firm, with cut action.
