Prep Baseball Report Iowa

PBR Iowa strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
HIMRICH: I have an offer from Truman State and Valparaiso.  I am in communication and contact with Bradley University, Richmond University, Ohio University and Nebraska-Omaha.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
HIMRICH: I have taken a visit to Bradley and have scheduled a visit to Valparaiso at the end of September. I’m hopeful to set up other visits soon.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.).
HIMRICH: I would like to study business / entrepreneurship in college.  I would like to attend a school with strong support of its baseball program (i.e. academic support, hitting facility with access, etc.). My ideal school would have an enrollment of 3,000+ enrollment.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
HIMRICH: We made it to the 4A state baseball tournament and made it to the quarterfinals.  I hit .344 for the year; .600 in the post-season; 1.000 at the state tournament; .396 against the top 10 teams, 8 of which were in our conference.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?
HIMRICH: Definitely to make it back and win the 4A state tournament.  That was a great atmosphere to play in and something I definitely want to work to experience again.  I look forward to start baseball training in December (after football) with hitting, speed training and continue weight training.  I would like to reach 90+ mph arm velocity (89 mph currently) and 95+ exit velocity (92 mph currently).

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
HIMRICH: Yes, I play quarterback for Dowling Catholic football.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
HIMRICH: I scored a 19 on the ACT, but will be re-taking late fall/winter.  My GPA is currently 3.48.
