The Woodbat ExposureTournament- Officially Scouted By PBR Iowa was held this weekend in Des Moines, IA. Even with the event hampered by weather; PBR Iowa was able to scout game action and accrue notes and highlights on athletes participating in the tournament.

SOUTHEAST POLK RAMS
+ ’19 Calvin Harris, RHP/UTL- smaller athletic frame, aggressive swing, loose hands at plate with pull approach. Was 78-82 mph with flashes of hard cutting action on fastball. Slower rolling 11/5 breaking ball. Consistent strike thrower and competed well on mound.
+ ’20 Carter Hope- has strength in lower half, solid swing, aggressive approach, gets big at times but flashes ability to hit. Solid runner underway.
+ ’20 Kaleb Krier, RHP/UTL- Was 77-81 mph, touching 83 mph, with above avg. fastball command to both sides of plate. Above avg. breaking ball thrown in any count; tilted plane to plate with sharp break. Stood out offensively as well; drilling two doubles over center fielders head into right center gap.
QC STICKS
+ ’20 Jacob Norris, OF- lean athletic build and projects physically. Hard pull contact with two RBI double over left fielders head. Shows consistent ability to barrel baseball, some stiffness through contact, but has athleticism and should continue to smooth out swing when playing every day.
IOWA STICKS
+ ’19 Ben DeTaeye, LHP- uncommitted 2-way player, lean athletic frame, was 81-83 mph topping out at 85 mph on cold rainy day. Breaking ball was 72-73 mph with solid shape and spin.
ACCELERATION BLACK
+ ’19 Sam Nagel, RHP- thicker muscular build, 81-83 mph with varying action on fastball. Avg. shape and spin on 11/5 breaking ball thrown at 71-73 mph.
SIOUX FALLS POST 15
’20 Keaton Hartman, OF- smaller athletic frame, made of best defensive plays of tournament running a fly ball down with back turned completely to infield, shows running ability, line drive swing plane, plays with energy and tempo, and shows ability to square up baseball.
